While the TEC, Advent and Vasari are embroiled in their own struggles for survival a new threat has emerged, intent on spreading it's infectious plague throughout the universe. The sickening ruthlessness in which entire populations are infected or destroyed is alarming to the TEC, Advent and Vasari alike. If the Plague wasn't enough they were immediately followed yet another race calling themselves the Nephilim. The initial encounter with the "Nephilim" held promise they would unite in defeating the Plague. However, Initial attempts at diplomacy have failed as the Nephilim seem single purposed in their pursuit of the Plague.

Rogue Traders

Cybernetically enhanced humans fashioning themselves as pirates will be the first to pass through Pandora's Gate. These pirates aren't like the pirates of Sins making occasional raids for the highest bidder. Instead the Rogues are scavengers, trash talkers, and are generally just looking for a good fight to pass the time. Don't be surprised to see them offer "protection" to nearby worlds for a moddest kick back. Their affinity for the less than honest way of living meshes well with the pirates of Sins allowing for lots of back room deals. Sporting fast ships and a criminal mentality you might find yourselve faces losses both financially and militarily before you realized what happened.

Yes! it will be a fully playable race including abilities, research trees, and icons. I don't have any voice scripting made yet so I'm not sure what I'll do in that regard.

It's a WIP article, I actually don't have a scout and siege lined up yet. It would be interesting to have the scout/lf combo but I don't think the AI would behave properly.

Could you...just put the same ship in for both places with proper abilities?

That way when they build a scout it will build a ship and the AI can activate its explore functionality but when it builds its light frig it builds the same ship without activating its explorer functionality?

I have no programing or AI experience so I am not sure any of this would work XD

Yes, you could. Existing meshes can be used in multiple places. 7DS does a lot of this by using the same model for it's new races versus adding in new models. I have a couple other options I'm considering for Rogue scouts though. I'm also thinking of using the siege AI type to cause ships to go on more regular raids against players similar to how they like to send siege ships in when you play the AI now.

Lots of missiles mainly, some lasers, maybe some auto-cannon.

Not sure on the big guns yet on the Arcadias. I have them firing the large laser effect from the Kol currently.

Um not be a brag but idk those fighters and bombers dont have a rougeish style sorta like spacemen thing idk if can recommend something more agile i guess of a fighter and something blunt as the bomber

if possible please cus those fighters dont have the style to be in the Rouge Navy Lol just a recommendation though hope it happens though plz :D

Would be nice if you gave some thought to the role of each faction aswell as their armaments. Based upon their culture/technology etc. Cheap, weak ships vs expensive, strong shields, strong hull, long range weapon, short range weapon etc etc. Would make each faction more unique and fun mayhaps.

@Holybeast, all good suggestions. Unfortunately time is a resource I don't really have a lot of time for modeling currently. Additionally, I plan on doing all new models for the uplifted myself (which will take some time) and have models I will use for the Infomorphs.

@malanthor, good suggestions too. Nephilim are supposed to be a stronger more durable race, while plague is less durable but easier to replace, including the capital ships which grow in levels overtime. My plan for Rogue is to have the fastest ships, big fire power, long range and but less durable ships (hit hard and get out). Infomorphs will be the most expensive ships both in cost and supply but will never lose experience, so they will just get even tougher over time. For the uplifted, I'm planning on all the ships having multiple banks similar to the illum with short range, not sure on hull/shield makeup yet.

Me thinks rogue sounds like the weakest faction overall, i mean they are pirates humping around making due with what they loot/steal/take/bargain for, they dont sound like the serious empire building badass faction exactly hehe, would be fun if you could implement something special for the pirates in how they work/play.
