While the TEC, Advent and Vasari are embroiled in their own struggles for survival a new threat has emerged, intent on spreading it's infectious plague throughout the universe. The sickening ruthlessness in which entire populations are infected or destroyed is alarming to the TEC, Advent and Vasari alike. If the Plague wasn't enough they were immediately followed yet another race calling themselves the Nephilim. The initial encounter with the "Nephilim" held promise they would unite in defeating the Plague. However, Initial attempts at diplomacy have failed as the Nephilim seem single purposed in their pursuit of the Plague.

With permission from the Distant Stars team I am proud to release the Sins of the Fallen: Distant Stars Addon (D 1.2) Alpha 0.2. This addon allows Sins of the Fallen Alpha 0.2.6 to stack with Distant Stars.

Synopsis of Fallen Distant Stars Addon (D 1.2) Alpha 0.2

The Fallen Distant Stars addon allows Sins of the Fallen to work with the Distant Stars mod as found here (Sins of a Solar Empire Forum) and here (moddb).

Distant Stars is a huge mod for Sins of a Solar Empire, made to increase the research levels greatly often doubling what was originally available. Also added are huge graphical improvements that were created by other members of the community and included in our mod, we have added many new planet types and also planet variations in size including varied population and statistics. On top of all this we have also increased the difficulty of the pirates making them much stronger than they were originally, not only is their base now protected by a Starbase and the planet undestroyable until you have defeated their starbase but they have also commandeered capital ships from each of the existing races.

The MOD helps to emphasise the differences between the three existing races due to it's huge research trees and also helps extend the length of games if you prefer longer games, however if you prefer shorter games the "Fast" gameplay speed has been speeded to over twice that of the original so if you prefer faster games, don't worry we also cater for you too!

How to setup Sins of the Fallen to work with Distant Stars?

  1. Download Sins of the Fallen (D) Alpha 0.2.6
  2. Download Fallen Distant Stars Addon (D) Alpha 0.2
  3. Download Distant Stars 0.99 Beta 2
  4. Enable the mods in the following order (As demonstrated in picture below)
    • Fallen Distant Stars Addon (D) Alpha 0.2
    • Distant Stars (D) 0.99 B2
    • Sins of the Fallen (D) Alpha 0.2 (With the latest version 0.2.6)

Thanks, I've actually had it merged for a while, just waiting for DS to burn in a bit with their latest release to regen the mod and ask for permission to release. I'd like to fully script the elements that build the addon. It's about 50% scripted right now. The nice thing with these bridge mods I don't have to merge DS like AHA did...

I also peek in AN occasionally to see whats happening. I'll poke in again soon.

Cool! I'm glad you figured it out. I set these up as a stacking bridge mod so you don't have to download massive amounts of data. Plus Distant Stars and Sins of the Fallen still remain playable standalone mods.

k thanks for puttin them together :D...only one thing the picture sets are all messed up for me...it syas i have one picture set but i get another when im setting up a game...also my menu has trinity and distant stars instead of sins of the fallen and distant stars like in the preview picture...nothing major though everything else seems to work fine :D...keep up the good work!!

Ok, I don't have trinity so there might be some minor differences between that build and diplomacy.

I also missed some fleet supply files when I was doing some rebalancing with DS. I also need to update the capital ship slots as well. I'll get a new build out for the addon soon.
