SoGE is a Star Wars Total Conversion for SoaSE: Rebellion with it's roots in the Homeworld 2 mod Star Wars: Warlords which features the two primarily sides of the Galactic Civil War, the Clone Wars, and the Yuuzhan Vong War. The current public version works for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.80/1.82+ and, with or without, all DLC. Rated #6 player's choice in MOTY 2014.
excellent mod, gets updated very fast.... very good thing too. stability is pretty great too. the 500+ planet map is awesome also. just so wish dumb 2G ram problem would go away, but i know we have to wait for the game to be written in 64 bit format as SINS 2
Very well designed mod. Looks AMAZING!! Loving the Old Republic alpha, but would love to see more images of the mod as it progresses (especially some images showcasing the icons for the Old Republic add-on ships since they haven't been added in yet.) Overall great mod, keep doing what you're doing!!!
This mod has blown me away. Details are very accurate, it feels as if I'm really fighting with the faction not for the faction. It really takes from all facets of Star Wars lore, both Extended Universe and Movie Canon, and just amplifies it and makes it a bit balanced. Certainly has come a long way from it's days of 'Here's a mod that lets you build a fleet of Executor-class SSDs.' Yes there are some unpolished things, like every other mod out there, and some balancing issues when it comes to fighters, but this mod is perfect for any star wars fan out there who happens to own this game.
Was going to go with 9... But bumped it to 10 to counter some of the ridiculous low scores.
Played this mod for a long time, on and off, now. Back again, and as the update is due to break any day now, keep checking back.
The thing I love most is how the factions feel to play. Each comes across pretty much spot on what I'd expect they should, and carries on to how best to play each against the others... For example, a Republic against CIS fight feels the way I think it should from the all the fluff, and handles completely different from a Rebellion vs Empire fight, which is something a lot of games don't quite get, with it being obvious for the sake of balance corners were cut (see Empire at War vanilla). Whilst that exists in the base Sins, it's carried across and improved in the mod. Even the rare or non-existent match ups feel right.
Ultimately, it's just fun to play, and keeps to the fluff well. Just what I want in a Star Wars game. (I take it to a bit of an extreme at times, and try to keep fleets in-game close to fluff for those that are known, using Wookiepedia and my copy of the Essential Guide to Warfare.)
