In Half-Life 2: Silent Escape, scientists has organized the project of "Silent Escape" in which they must using the teleport bring people to safe place. However, things did not go quite according to plan. In the project "Silent Escape" was attended by the main character, Sean and his partner Thomas. Because of the Combine chase, they had to merge and stay in the basement, but soldiers found them. From this moment, they need to break into the lab. But they are waiting for an event about which they have not even thought of. In this modification you will find a lot spectacular scenes, a variety locations, attention to the details, and an intriguing story. The main story of "Silent Escape" unfolds before the incident in Nova Prospekt. The main character, Sean will visit many locations: the dark forest, an abandoned mine, evening forest and survive through many adventures. And have a revenge...
Opens Silent Escape, first person I meet: "We have to escape!"
Door blows up and fighting ensues
So much for silent.
Mapping is nice, train sequence was stupid(bf3 much?), hard to feel emotionally attached to anyone despite the mod milking the moments.
Mapping is still nice though.
The graphics are really good exept in the town and it need a bit improovments.
But the big problem is that you placed combined evrywhere and its really annoying.
By ecrywhere I really mean everywhere.
At each corner there will be an attack and its annoying.
You should work a bit on the parts with NPC
Aesthetically (glitches aside), these maps are pleasing, but not well thought out or particularly creative (even re-cycled the old car battery puzzle). I think what we have here is yet another skilled artisan in need of an idea man. (Which is, sadly, rarer than the other way around.)
Translated voice acting would have been a lot better if they took the time to reword things to match the original sentence lengths.
Woulda been trapped by my allies a lot less often if the squad direct button worked, or if the just had the old AI "I'm rubbing against you = move damnit!" thing.
Other than that, pretty good, as these things go.
8/9 for the graphics
5 for the story
6 for consistency
The mod was fun however it wasn't very consistent. The environment changed from day to night in the game in a single level change, The characters weren't easy to relate too and they didn't feel like I could relate.
The plot twist was easy to spot (or at-least for me) and the story lacked emotion even when key events happened.
I would still recommend playing the mod and giving it a shot for yourself. Though sometimes slow it is a challenge to complete on hard.
The maps are very similar to HL2 and its episodes but with a few graphical extras including vignetting and lens dust effects.
Overall a 6/10 purely because of the story seemed to lack a long-term direction and lack of connection with the NPCs.
