Sikkmod is a general enhancement mod for id Software's 2004 FPS: Doom 3 and its expansion pack: Resurrection of Evil. Its main purposes are to update visuals of Doom 3 to a more modern level and to allow the user to customize various aspects of the game to suit their preferred styles all while maintaining the core mechanics and aesthetics originally put in by id Software. The mod also includes a number of fixes to and better organization of stock files in order to create a clean and more stable base for future mods

Just extract to Doom 3 base folder. Works only with retail doom 3 and steam doom 3, I don't know how to make it work with BFG Doom nor RoE.

pm_thirdPerson - enables third person view

pm_thirdPersonRange - camera distance from player in 3rd person

pm_thirdPersonHeight - height of camera from normal view height in 3rd person

pm_thirdPersonAngle - direction of camera from player in 3rd person in degrees (0 = behind player, 180 = in front)

pm_thirdPersonOffest - camera offest from player in 3rd person (-n = left, +n = right)

These variables are not saved to your "DoomConfig.cfg" so you'll need to put them in an "autoexec.cfg" to have them apply every time you play.

Starting up the mod goes fine and all - but when i get in-game, the heat distortion (wavy like the ship jets when you first start the game) isnt properly rendered.

Secondly, ANY single sikkmod effect i turn on makes the screen go completely inverted (upside-down) and off-center.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks fritzroy - my screen doesn't go inverted when i have AA off now, but it still becomes distorted (zoomed in kinda and off-center)

so I still gotta troubleshoot that

as for fully shutting down Cat AI with the latest drivers - that's my problem. Even in the system tray menu there's no particular option like that - and renaming the exe just makes my game crash.

I guess I should've mentioned before that I'm using a cracked (torrented) version of Doom 3 (1.3.1). Maybe that's the issue?

Make a custom shortcut to load it directly put +set fs_game d3xp-sikkmod +set fs_game_base d3xp

Example: "C:\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +set fs_game d3xp-sikkmod +set fs_game_base d3xp

A very nice update to Doom 3. Pretty much fully customizable ingame and it just works. Simple to use compared to some other enhancement mods I've tried out.
