Shattered Lands is a World War III themed mod for Men of War Assault Squad that will offer a huge variety of game play and features. Four unique and diverse factions each with entire arsenals specific to them. It will also add a large number of overall improvements to the Men of War experience.
The FN MAG (Not to be confused with the M240B, An American Clone of the MAG). This is the medium level machine gun out of the three avaible for Europe. Its range is up to 180 in-game meters, and will serve as a supressive fire support weapon. It carries 100 round boxes for ammunition and has a medium fire rate and higher damage than the Minimi.

What's the usual engagement range in SL?
It can range from 10m-300m in-game. However it all depends on how well your reconaissance is. If you make use of your squad leader's binoculars you should be able to spot your enemies ahead of time and engage them at the maximum range your soldiers can fire.
Rifle ranges can vary but most go up to 150m max.
Machineguns can go up to 220m max.
SMG's can go up to 80-90m max.
Shotguns & Pistols will go up to 50m.
Please not though that this does not mean that you will be able to insta-rape everyone at 300m. The further this distance you are shooting at the higher the spread and thus your accuracy takes a hole in the ground. The only way to see for yourself tho is to check beta footage when it comes out.
Ah I see, speaking of reconnaissance, will vehicles like the FV 107 meant to provide recon and forward observation for MBTs/Artillery? Or will that role fall under Infantry spotters?
You can do it whatever way you want. You could use IFVs for recon for all we care. Sure some units may be designed for a particular use but that doesnt restrict them to it.
