They're part of the Targaryen army - Jorah, Barristan, Grey Worm, and Daario will be generals.

Uhm, aren't they supposed to be a heavy cavalry force?
Yes but without them in other roles too, there'd only be cavalry and spearmen in Dany's army. Unbalanced and people would complain.
