Development Continues

Evolution of combat III
Is a total conversion for singleplayer and multyplayer and requires a fresh copy of Jedi academy installed without any extra models or maps in the base folder.
Jedi academy must be fully patched with the latest update ,Evolution of Combat III requires Jedi Outcast Fully patched and installed into the jedi academy base folder

Your base folder should look like this
both singleplayer and multyplayer have full manual blocking and both singleplayer have full outcast support (if installed correctly)
If you MUST have extra maps or models installed into your base folder then follow the instructions on how to add them in the tutorial to avoid crashes.
Make a backup of your Jedi academy game and move it to a different location or change the name to jedi academy personal .then re-install a fresh copy, then patch it. then install jedi outcast then patch it then install the outcast files into the academy base as per the tutorial.
Then install Evolution of Combat III and the game will be stable.
This mod is a total conversion built to play using base files only.....

Evolution of Combat has changed radically, the mod focus is now (As the name suggests) on Evolution of Combat.A lot of the unnecessary stuff that was nothing more than a distraction and swayed the focus from combat in EoC I and 2 has been removed.
The saber system has been overhauled ,If you watch the film "crouching tiger,hidden dragon" you will see what we have been aiming for.We have focused our efforts on Defense ,calculated attacks, timing and speed.
The saber system is a serious "Saberists"  element of the mod with aspects of the Wudang chuan swordsmanship fighting styles and 7 saber forms to choose from.As a result of this ,the people who just like the hack and slash base jedi academy system will not like this.And if you expect your enemy to just stand and be killed, well i got some more bad news
The bot A.I has been totally  rebuilt ,these bots (enemy's) will defend themselves and attack you with a degree of intelligence timing and cunning ,never seen before in JKA .We have aimed at a sense of realism ,to make you feel you are fighting real people.So the message is "If your not an expert at EoC saber system don't play on skill level Jedi master" you will just be killed.
The melee combat system has also been rebuilt ,added moves for defense and attack make melee combat a new skill based element  to the mod that ,"when mastered" give you a big advantage over a less experienced fighter.
New weapons and vehicles make the life of a gunner far more interesting.So if you don't want to play as a Jedi, fear not.Many new aspects have been added to make the life of a gunner far more fun.The athlete skill is something gunners will learn to love ,allowing you to jump higher,further, perform acrobatics, and move faster .This skill will make life hard for other gunners and saber wielders to hit you accurately, as you leap and dive around from fire position to cover position.Location based damage means you can blow your opponents head,arms or legs off with a single shot,Making a gun user an enemy respected by all.(Including Jedi).

A full experience and Rank system allows you to save your progress to avoid "starting from the beginning" every time you start a new game. Just log in and as you get better and more skilled at EoCIII you will be rewarded by promotion and skill points allowing you to upgrade your weapons or force powers.
New force powers and updates of the old force powers make the life of a sith or jedi far more interesting .Use the force wisely and be rewarded generously, abuse or over using your force powers can weaken you and make you vulnerable to attack from wise enemy's.

Evolution of Combat III is a new build ,it is not intended to be a mere update of Jedi academy ,but a New beginning.You must relearn what you have learnt, remaster what you have mastered, with patience , experience and intelligence.This mod will take combat of all forms to a new level allowing you to become the greatest warrior in the galaxy.........

First of all i want to thank Stoiss and Serenity for allowing me to be a beta tester, i really appreciate it and i promised the feedback, so here it is :D But first i want to say that everything below is a personal opinion and it's goaled not to offend anyone, just constructive feedback. Improved sabersystem - well, i couldn't think that after EoCII it could be even better, but it is, you have more control of your saber, you have to "feel" your moves as a real jedi or sith and you have to be really attentive and look carefully what your opponent is doing.

New force powers - i really enjoyed telekinesis, it seems to be that power we all needed ;D but it's a bit overpowered, but i will come back to it later.

new visual effects - no comments to this one ;D

Login\account system seems to be working now and it's actually saves your exp and level.

I wanted to check the bots today, but i couldn't, i think it's because of beta version, so nevermind.

And i also wanted to write about few more things but i forgot them (shame on me).

Now it's time for bad points and suggestions:
Although new sabersystem is better, it would be too hard for new players to handle. I would never guess that you need to hold block even when attacking, but there is one more problem - when i hold block and pressed attack - my character seemed to be unable to attack, as block prevented attacking, but when i pressed attack first and then block - everything was fine. It's a bit hard to handle. And also some saber passthroughs was still noticeable.

Niman (staff) style is too overpowered, i mean VERY overpowered, it was like that since first release but i didn't notice it until few weeks ago when i played with bots, and in beta version it's even more overpowered than before.

As niman is overpowered, ataru (duals) is underpowered, i think for style that uses 2 lightsabers it's block not that good as it should. When you lost one saber you're able to block with 2nd, right? But it seems that you can't... And when you use 2 sabers, but one is turned off, the hilt is flying around while it should be in the hand :D
Knockdowns when parrying are a bit frustrating, i know i have to master it first and complain later, but not everyone so understanding as me, so if you'll make something like stagger effect instead of knockdowns it would be more realistic and fit to mod (imho).

Telekinesis is also overpowered - Stoiss couldn't block it at all, but he should, you have to make saber defence to be able to block forcepowers depending on stage of forcepower and saber defence power (for example when you have saber defence 2 and telekinesis 2 you can block it, but if telekinesis is 3 and defence 2 - you can't, but i think it should be applied for all force powers, or you could make new force power "force defence" to handle that).

Kicks are not worth trying - to make a kick you have to release block first - and that's where danger is, when you release block and your opponent notice it - you're dead. And also you have that parry knockdowns which makes kicks useless.

Also you can use force power (telekinesis in my case) in a middle of a saber swing, i did that trick on Stoiss and succeded most of tries, and it's wrong, close to cheating.

So i think that's it, maybe i forgot to mention something - i'll add when remember. Thanks again for letting me to test.

p.s. sorry for pretty long intro, but i couldn't stand not to write it ;D

Nice to see you like it mate but as you can see there is still a lot of work to do "mainly Balance issues".
The areas you mentioned that are overpowered styles and telekinesis etc will be fixed before any release happens.but to be honest thats some time away as we still have a lot of work to do.

and anyway this beta is still more playable than first releases ;D what can you say about "force defence" power that i mentioned in feedback? Is it possible to make? If it is, i think it would be good addition to neutral powers.
Also i have some suggestions to push and pull powers: they could deal 1.5x or 3x fall damage on 2nd and 3rd stage respectively as a pledge to realism. Combining with force defence and improved sabersystem it would make duels even more epic and interesting, as it would make you to improve not only saberfighting skills but learning of using the force too.

Is there an option to automaticaly character block incoming hits and blaster bolts wihtout using bind key? If not, can you make it voluntary? You know what I mean I hope. :) and suggestion is... I don't know if this is good and possible to make idea but, could you make something like this... somewhere, there is a small mod changing weapons into force powers I think it's Dragon Ball Z mod... well the idea is, when you hit first time on key bind 1-9 it should activate normal weapons but when you hit second time then you'll get some other powers like in this mod. I know you are doing a great job, but i think it would be awsome to add some new powers. If this is not possible, i don't know try to add new powers by bind keys to choose in control menu for example or idk :P. keep it up good work and thx for answer :)

well ideas is not a bad idea to come with. it sounds like you ask for auto blocking for in comming blaster shots ? if this is the idea. you can have two choice now. hold block down and it will do it the auto way, sec one is manuel controle you postions for blocking incomming shots wich is my fav one :P EoC is about have as much manuel controle as possible and we try to make it as good as we can that way. as far of what i know so far serenity have add some small new force power's the problem is that if you want to code new powers it take alot of skill to do it and time and also the right idea for what it would do plus balance it, agenst other powers so it not is overpowerd. so atm. no powers will be maked beside does we have :) hope it awnser you question and i hope we understand it right ;)
