Science and Industry 2 is a teamplay modification for Half-Life 2. It is the sequel to the long-running Half-Life modification Science and Industry. Players take on the role of Security Officer in a bitter struggle between two rival corporations in the world of defence technology research.
It is the job of Security Officers to acquire and protect the company's most valuable resources - the scientists, which develop technologies for the company, and the technologies themselves. Since it is the technologies and scientists which generate the income for your company, which in turn keeps the company at the leading edge of the business world, these resources are vital to success.
However, the company isn't content with just having its own scientists and technologies - the opposition also has plenty of scientists working for them. Stealing scientists from the opposition is a great way to increase productivity, and keep those new technologies coming thick and fast.
Of course, the opposition has the same idea, so defending the company's existing resources is as important as "recruiting" new ones. Of course, the intricate threads of the universe are difficult to untangle when standing in the middle of a firefight, so for maximum productivity, keep the combat out of the laboratory areas as much as possible.

I'm pleased to announce the first major media release for Science and Industry 2. After a long hiatus due to various real-life commitments for the development team, work has resumed at pace over the past few months. The internal SI2 development build is taking substantial form, and has reached the point where we can display the work that has taken
place thusfar.
The full content of our release can be found at our website, where we have a number of pieces of promotional artwork created by our extremely capable art team, along with various concepts for some of the weapons that will be making appearances in the game, and some in-game screenshots from out development build. A small sample of the media can be found below:
We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that we are recruiting new members for our development team, including mappers, modellers, animators, skinners and texture artists. Full details can be found at our website, along with information on how to apply.

It's written on the website : "So I guess it wasn't clear from the release announcement that this was intended to be a release to stir up interest in the mod, all the while still being in the development process. I'm sorry if you were mislead into thinking it was a full-blown finished product just because it said version 1.0."
i tried the beta... keep map, change everything rest, its CS:S and HL 2 models and weapons.. anyway it would be nice if it will be like the first Si
What I would do is just polish the game up so it doesn't look like HL2 or CSS.
I tried the beta or whatever that was but it was far from complete. I really hope you guys polish and fix this mod up, it's really one of those mods that stand out from the others. I played the hl1 version to death.

What went well :
- S&I game premiss is there
What would do differently :
- Add skin to pistol.
- For this release until models added, chnaged models so at least tell teams apart.
- Recruit some more coders/model makers/mappers.
that posting was a mistake sorry
Dear lord, this version screams of fail. This was way too early to actually release as a beta.
damn your right, no one should ever release early, release often! it's against the mainstream development cycle!!! release a broken hyped up release for the final like the cool guys because releasing betas is not waht a developer should do!
depends on how far the game/mod is in developement. I think they should have stated in CAPS that it was far, far, far from completion. Plubic beta is ok but it has to be done in a manner that everyone understands that it is far from what it will look/play/feel like
aaahhh, thanks man.
