I don't know if it's a such a good thing that plague will kill units, might get imbalanced, I wouldn't mind if it would kill buildings though because plague rarely gets building to almost die unless it's a weak building like a missile turret.

Apart from buildings maybe you'd prefer to make it kill at least some units, in that case I would suggest mechanical units to be killed by plague, but you should maybe keep the armor level in mind as it also should give it more chewing resistance against disintegration caused by plague, at least for units.

Also about Archons, I hope you mean both kinds.

Plague cost 150 energy and its a late game spell, i dont think that will become imbalanced, considering the reduced damage. Also there are ways to reduce the damage caused by plague now, like restoration (that have AoE) and defensive matrix for terrans, and shield batteries or plasma surge to recharge shields and absorb part of the damage for protoss.
About armor reducing the damage, all damage spells are unaffected by armor (except yamato gun I think), and plague spells deals low damage per second, so it will be reduced a lot by armor.

Its now useful to kill workers, but still dont think it imbalanced as templars have storm and cost only half energy.

And yes, both archons are unaffected.

That can be a good option. But to keep part of the balance of the original game i think better to make them unaffected by plague.

In regular Starcraft Archons receive very low damage from plague (Archons 9, and DA 24). Also archons are already immune to some effects like electrostatic discharge. And arent bio, mechanical or robotics like the other units. So i probably make some tag for them that inform those immunities.

Description

Plague damage has been reduced to 100 for units and 250 to buildings but now can kill enemy units O.o
In addition, shields and defensive matrix can soak half of the damage received by plague. But no matter how much shield points the unit have, if health reaches 0 it will die.

For balance reasons Archons arent affected by plague any more.
