A mod that mixes the tactics of TFC with the realism from CS/DoD. Set in 2023, advanced weaponry creates the ultimate war. Well balanced classes that support each other work together to control flags around the map, no waiting for capture to keep you on your toes! Desert setting in maps is accomplished through excellent use of textures and design.
Take up the fight of either the CODE or AIM soon!
"The desert heat scorches your soul, War is HELL!"

We are current in the proces of migrating all content on the site to a CMS system utilizing the forum. This allows for us to easily update the site without having to mess with ftp, html, etc. Furthermore it also gives more people on the team the oppurtunity to edit and update the site.
As you can see we have added a bar so that you can go through all the old news easily. On the forum we have added a warning system so that we easily can administrate the users.
The new URLs are:
Homepage: Sandsofwar.net
Forum: Sandsofwar.net
We have updated the jobs page, which can be found here:
Sandsofwar.net
It now contains all the information you need if you are thinking of applying for a position on the Sands of War team. We have also added the number of open positions. We are currently recruiting positions for all areas on the team, so please apply if you have any experience in game development(mapping, coding, texturing, modelling, etc.)
We do also have Developer Journals now. You will get to hear a lot of insider detail, which don't make it to the frontpage. You can also learn a bunch about how we work and what we work on.

Concept art
This week we are showcasing some special concept art. The weapons below are not just concepts, they are actually modelled in 3d! Concept sketches like these make it much easier to see what the weapon looks like. Furthermore it is also much faster to do the model, as the concepts are already in 3d.
Both of the weapons are for CoDe. The first one is the sniper for the Recon and the last is the Vulcan for the Commando.
Bigger versions and more screenshots can be found in our new screenshot gallery:

iCon for some reason old team members havent been deleted from the list. Just doing a rough count only about 7 or 8 should still be up there and I'm going to bring it up with Zacker/Racer. On the flipside some ppl who have done alot arent there either such as Slackiller or Joke.
Unfortunately making our own models requires someone who knows how to model, someone who can skin the models, and someone who can animate them. These "professions" require rare artistic talents and are very time consuming and as such are easily the hardest to fill. But lately new blood to the team has brought a new modeller and another team member trying his hand. Thats as much as I can tell you atm. It's just so much easier to use models from freelancers, that we have permission to use, and that to most people appear new anyway.
Thanks for the input! ^_^
This mod looks good exept one thing.... If you have a team of 21 people then shouldnt you be able to make all your own models and not take them from custom model sites? Im sure if you made you own they would look and go with the game alot better.
Well anyway. i hope to see this mod soon!
Sounds like the perfect mod to play when you don't want to wait around or be tactical ;) ... i'll be watching
Thanks m8. Everyone whos working is doing so super hard! :)

We are so close to finishing the coding for HL. We just want to finish the mod to show we are a serious team.
We took shortcuts like borrowing weapobns from Custom CS sites and reskinning players.
For HL2 we wont release the mod untill we have all new players/weapons and some of our own vehichles.
Any Modelers interested in working on a HL2 mod please contact me at racebmx@prodigy.net or see me in IRC on gamesnet at #sandsofwar (You can talk to British_Bomber also)
This looks nice.. Keep up the good work and best of luck.
