A mod that mixes the tactics of TFC with the realism from CS/DoD. Set in 2023, advanced weaponry creates the ultimate war. Well balanced classes that support each other work together to control flags around the map, no waiting for capture to keep you on your toes! Desert setting in maps is accomplished through excellent use of textures and design.

Bot support is something the fans have always requested for Sands of War 1. It opens up a lot of possibilities for both players and developers.
Since our old bot guy Dany gave up, we have been looking for someone to make a bot for Sands of War 1. Some weeks ago we found The Storm who is the author of one of the best bots for CS, EPodbot.
Considering the quality of EPodbot we are looking forward to the new bot. This what The Storm had to say about it:
"It was simply a shame that a mod as Sands of War did not have a bot."
Development is still in the early stages, but we are sure that it will become a bot. It is possible that we will include an early beta of the bot in SoW 1.6, but we doubt it.
When the first public version of the bot is released we will of course announce it here.

Then I sure hope you have a credits page with every name of the people who own every files you borrowed, otherwise this mod will die fast and you will lose trust from the community.
We have borrowed a bit of content from thoose mods until we can fill it out with our own unique work. Thats what we have our beta versions for.
The low server count is indeed unfortunate. You can help it by spreading the word about SoW to all of your friends and server admins!
this mod has stoeled sounds from CS/TFC! second, there are absolutely no servers for it! ;(

I own Defcon Software and thru an unfortunate set of circumstances the League I started and mods went down. I have a new business partner and renewed vigor.
See the news updates. Im finally back online, for Zacker and Nuke and all the mappers and everyone who has worked hard thanks and servers will be back up in July!
To those who talk smack, thanks sometimes it helps push a mod team other times though it is discouraging. Mod team members and gamers and tech gods looking to help, all I can say is thanks.
2004 will see us not only polish Sands of War and the other mods, but begin work on HL2 editions.

Scroll a little down and read my newspost to the left, that should answer most of your questions, unfortunately ModDB did not want it on the frontpage.
I understand your frustration mappersu and to some extend I also share it with you. If things worked out as they were supposed to we would both have a working website and game servers. The net is flooded with guys who promise lots of things and in the end just screw it all up though.
You know who you are, shame on you!
This mod is the typical mod. No servers, website disappears, obviously no players, no backing, no adverts. Anyone who runs a mod, listen up, if you can't afford a server for a website and a server or a few servers for the mod for players to play on... you're wasting your time. It was a fun mod too. Shame.
