Sands of War
Half-Life mod | Released May 27, 2006
A mod that mixes the tactics of TFC with the realism from CS/DoD. Set in 2023, advanced weaponry creates the ultimate war. Well balanced classes that support each other work together to control flags around the map, no waiting for capture to keep you on your toes! Desert setting in maps is accomplished through excellent use of textures and design.

Ever wanted to play SoW1 without being able to find someone to play with? Then this is good news for you, bots are underway!
For some weeks the development has been paused due to a nasty bug, but it is progressing nicely again now. Currently we are aiming for a first public beta of the bot to be released in a month or so.

SoW 1.6
Our last installment in the SoW1 series is very close to final now. Several areas of it have been done for many months. The 7th release candidate was release to the testers a little week ago and so far it seems to be quite stable and bug free.
Unless any new serious problems occour doing these last days of testing, SoW 1.6 final will be publically released soon.

i wasnt impressed by this mod for a few reasons
1. NO SERVERS? i thot there would be at least SOMEONE playing
2.the weapons sounds. every sound was from another game? i like mods with there own unique gun sounds.
3.the doors. the doors made me feel like i was a hobbit.
good idea and all but i didnt like it....
wtf was the news about sands of war GONE GOLD? how did it GONE GOLD? i seriously want to know? i was the only person playing this mod for a little over 20 minutes not one person joined. no one made there own server.
