FAQ

KNOWN BUGS AND ISSUES

IMPORTANT:

If your game crashes in some town sieges, before trying the optional patch, I recommend lowering the resolution and/or lower the corpses as this shall fix it if you have a good computer. The crashes happen due to the huge size of the towns combined with the high poly textures of environment, buildings and units equipment and it seems to happen when reinforcements keep coming adding to the corpses already in the field, so having less corpses in the battlefield shall be a huge help. This is only problematic in TOWNS sieges, in castles sieges and normal battlefield this is not an issue. Lowering resolution also helps when just visiting towns both in loading time and also to avoid crashes as it can also happen after you have visited a couple towns because this will hit your v-ram. The higher the resolution the bigger the hit on your v-ram.

Sands of Faith v2.3 Changelog:

Freelancer reworked (to join cavalry you need to start as an "impoverished noble"), overhauled castle sieges, replaced naval battle scenes, fixes to campaign map pathfinding, autosell fixed, overhauled some muslim equipment/troops, overhauled some music, fixes/corrections to scenes, many overall tweaks, fixes and corrections.

Released OPTIONAL patches that shall fix performance and crashes related issues, read description of the patches in file description. It is save game compatible no worries. Use the (complete) one only if with the other you still have performance issues.

- The folder PLAYER WARCRIES AND VOICE ORDERS has crusader and muslim version for voice on commands and warcries and also crusader female voice, choose the one you want and copy/paste the wav files to SoF Sounds folder and sounds.txt to SoF main folder, replace when asked. To perform a warcry press "N".

- The folder USER INTERFACE has optional muslim battle UI, if you want to change copy/paste the dds file to SoF Textures folder and replace when asked.

To make these things change automatically I would need to use WSE (Warband Script Enhancer) and although WSE make possible scripts that otherwise aren't, it also brings a lot of issues as compatibility and performance stuff and can also confuse a lot of players from what I've seen in mods using WSE. So from the start I decided to make the mod completely WSE free. The downside is that you need to change these things manually.

INSTALLATION:

- Extract to your Mount&Blade; Warband/Modules folder
- Choose Sands of Faith v2.3 on the launcher mods list
- Play and have fun

The mod seems great, but tournaments seem bugged, at least with the low end version. Whenever I try to join one, the game crashes.

Hello, but you still have problems with the voice over for the ayyubid faction. The warcry and some of the commands are still in french EVEN after replacing them with the arabian warcry wav files. Please help.

You're wrong, you just didn't read the instructions carefully because you also need to replace the sounds.txt file in Sands of Faith main folder.

YAAAAAAAY !!!! It is definitely part of the truly best mods you can find for that game, textures are so beautiful, it is some great overhaul ; what a fine work !
I am addicted to the crusades background, and especially to the Templars' Order, and I reckon you've done a fantastic work based on this amazing era, outfits are awesome, faces looks reaaaally nice, Templars' swords looks incredible, and I couldn't hold myself from being amazed by the details of the swords' blades, rigorous work for theses ones, and for all the rest, magnificently put together, your french crusaders warcries are absolutely delightful -believe me, I'm french, and I can tell you that the way it is shouted by the character really embellishes the immersion ! Nothing to complain about, it is a great success, besides from a few minor bugs : when I intend to change my helmet, I can't drag it from my head to my inventory without loosing all my hair, and I could not fix it from the character's section, when I drag the helm to the inventory, a debug message written in red adverts the following : "Unable to find mesh_skullcap" or something like that, and even after loosing my hair due to the lack of helmet, I can't click on the "done" button, leaving me unable to quit the inventory, I just can't leave without my helmet on, if you have any idea regarding how you could fix it, it would be greatly appreciated, beside of this little minor incident, I'd like to thank you for all the impressive work you managed to put together, it kinda saved my week, as I spent days wandering through internet, searching for a good templar game, someone talked about mount & blade, and I -luckily- found your mod as one of the first I installed for the Game, and, -WOW!- the overall experience leaves me sooo happyy to see you offering that kind of perspective, and, above it all, it is some true quality work you've experienced here !
Congratulations, and I shall thank you in advance for taking time to explore what possibly messed up with the inventory, knowing that I also experienced this kind of trouble with other items, especially in the Cheat-Menu->Find-An-Item, but the problem I exposed upper-head strictly concerns the character's inventory only.
I'm just sad my computer isn't powerful enough to support your replacement town scenes, I tried quickly, but it took a hell of a time to load Acre's new town scene (BEAUTIFUUUL!!!!), then it lagged a little bit, back to the scene's menu, I tried to "take a walk around the streets" for the second time, and then the game crashed, experiencing a RunTime Error. I already saw you saying that it was a matter of videoMemory, but I don't really understand how I couldn't handle this while having 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 960m (yes, I'm sadly playing on a laptop)
Can't wait to see the 2.0, and I truly hope that you'll be working on similar mods for Bannerlord, as I couldn't expect playing it without having the ability to slain some pagans, and leave them burning upon the desert lands of these righteous Sands of Faith...

But could You add much more soundtracks? Couse I've got these few in my head all the time xD
