Hello, first of all I wanted to give kudos to your entire team on this project, it's already very solid and professional! I had the most fun I've had with a mod for a long time, in fact I'd already list this in my top 5 mods I've ever played.

I did want to point out one issue that I apologize if you're already aware of (I imagine you probably are), and that is the hit boxes on the tall, floaty, fishy enemies. They seem to be invincible to player attacks except when shot in the back. Turrets are either unaffected by this, or they start hitting them only they've been shot in the back by the player (I think the former).

Again sorry if you're aware of this, and I realize this is an alpha release still, that said this was by far the most glaring issue I noticed. Can't wait for future updates!

Heh, it's not a bug, it's a feature. Working as intended etc.

We've specifically made them only take damage when shot in the back. We do however know that we didn't have time to get enough feedback in to make that obvious enough yet. We're working on adding "sparks" or other effects that indicate that the hoverers take no damage when shot in their powerful shields in the front.

Other than that I'm very glad to hear that you're enjoying the mod and we'll make sure to keep improving it.

Alright, I thought it might be intentional (as it would have been a very obvious bug), but I wasn't sure. I guess I didn't notice they're carrying shields. Anyway it does definitely add to the difficulty, which is a pro to me.

I'll take the freedom to answer you in English:

We sadly have no longer version of that specific song. I checked and we had two variations of that song but they are very similar and don't differ all that much. And I totally agree, I really like the music in Sanctum :) Fits the game perfectly and gives an awesome atmosphere to the game.

Also, thank you for the compliments :)

I admire the work and effort that has gone into creating this beautiful mod, but I'll have to admit that I just can't stand Tower Defence games. They just don't have any appeal to me. Not to say that I don't understand the appeal at all (It's not a bad concept), but it's just not my thing.

So what I'm wondering is if you have any plans to release Skye (And perhaps the "Humanoid Mob" enemy) as a separate UT3 character models (And if not, I beg you to. Granted, if there even is a 3rd person model of Skye, and not just 1st person arms) or to use her as protagonist in a future mod with the same stunning aesthetic design as this one (Or just an alternate level with only FPS gameplay, enemy spawning in waves-survival style perhaps?).

Lastly though, I admit, I haven't played the mod. Why? My current PC just wouldn't do it justice. I do have UT3 though, but yet to install it, since well, not overly much memory left on HDD (Need a lot for all cool mods. My Steam folder alone takes up 40+ GB) and can't run on high settings which makes it kinda dull. But hey, you're welcome to try to convince me to install and try it anyway. ;D

Oh and lastly, any plans to release a PS3 compatible version? Reason I ask is because a friend of mine is currently lacking a functional PC, and have the game on PS3, and well, it would be cool if he could play the game despite this.

PS: Inte för att det gör någon skillnad, men är svensk jag med. Go Sweden! Önskar er lycka till med era framtida karriärer, Sverige kan inte få för många begåvade spelutvecklare. ;D

Hey there, Mutant1988. Well, I can start off by saying that we're sorry that you're not into Tower Defenses, but also that saying that this is a Tower Defense in its ordinary form is very wrong, in my opinion. And also, it would be quite unheard of to find a genre that everyone would be interested in, it just won't happen. It's like with any genre at all, there are some people who love it, quite a few people who enjoy it and then there are the rest that either hate it or do not enjoy it ;) Nothing different with this game.

I could continue by saying that it's a bit unfair to say you wouldn't like the game without having even played it, but as you actually have restrictions in the form of computing power, I won't insist.

I actually doubt quite a bit on the PS3 release as there are some really strange restrictions. Like not being able to use custom sounds at all (Unless I'm wrong on this point).

And on that Skye note, I doubt she will ever be completed in a fully detailed third person view style. There is a rough one made right now but our focus has shifted so no more Skye will get done for the time being. We could maybe however look into it at a later date, but as we're quite unknowing if people would even notice/use those models, it might be too much work.

I have a wierd problem on the latest version of sanctum. I just installed it on the steam version of UT3 (the same version I used to play the July release) and whenever I start the game up, through any mechanism, it tells me UT3.exe has stopped responding, and asks if I would like to send an error report. Any help?

Ni-Q Sep 21 2009, 5:54pm replied:

That sounds like if you're using the "-useunpublished" at the end of your command line. This has been changed since the July release as we've changed how we package the mod. Make sure you've followed the readme completely as it is a bit different than last time.

Let me know if you get it working and if it doesn't, I'd need some more information to try to troubleshoot further. If you haven't done that already, try removing the old version before adding this new one.

Greenagainn! Sep 21 2009, 8:16pm replied:

I was having the same problem and removing the "-useunpublished" made it run perfectly. Ive had a quick go on it and im amazed by how good it is. Including the sniper and assault rifles has changed a normal first person tower defence game into a more skilful actiony tower defence game. Brilliant concept. I cant wait to see later builds after this, especially looking forward to the implementation of co-op which will definitely make this mod unmissable.

Ni-Q Sep 21 2009, 8:49pm replied:

That is some really great feedback there, Greenagainn! And yeah, I suspected it was the -useunpublished that messed it up, as we also had that same issue on a machine or two when testing it.

We'll make sure to try keep improving Sanctum as long as there is a public demand for it :) And I also have great expectations for the Co-op side of the game.

Rock on and spread the word!
