Samurai Legends is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer mod like no other. Gone is the FPS framework of HL2 and in its place is a third-person, team based, tactical action game.

Samurai Legends is a multiplayer action game for Half-Life2 that uses a combat system familiar to players of many online MMO games. Players may choose from three character classes and then upgrade their weapons, armor, and abilities by earning honor on the battlefield. Honor is earned by killing enemy players and completing objectives and is spent between rounds in a menu system similar to Counter-Strike. Top players are recognized by a “leader flag” that attaches to their back, and these leaders then provide a healing bonus to near-by players to encourage group game-play. In addition, the monk class may seek out the “resurrection shrine” found on each map to resurrect fallen comrades.

Key Game-Play features:

* Round-based combat. Weapons and armor are purchased between rounds.
* Over 30 unique weapons and armor sets.
* Armor purchased shows up on the character model.
* Clickable ability icons and mouse-driven selection cursor.
* Leader system encourages and rewards team-play.
* Resurrection Shrine brings fallen comrades back to life.
* Spell particle effects.
* Diverse settings and combat locations.
* Style selection effects character ability cool-downs.
* Mythic Asian setting and characters.
* 3 unique game-types (warlord, assassination, and take-and-hold).

i love rpg's the best rpg are the ones that combine skill with rpg (like fps/rpg games) saidly, this is the rarest kinda rpg, most rpg's don't matter how skilled you are, just how much time you spent on your char

Heh, noone is going to 'rape' you for your opinion. :)

I'm not sure what part of the video leads you to believe this is an RPG. The only thing about the game that resembles an RPG is that you can play 3 different classes. It's really no more of an RPG than Team Fortress is.

The game is more of an action game than anything else. Although the combat system is very similar to games like World of Warcraft. Perhaps that makes it like an RPG to some people.

If you try out the game when it is released, I think you will change your mind about it being an RPG. :)

Im sorry to say this, but it is the truth. I despise RPG's, I hate RPG's most HL2 Players hate RPG's.From what I see from your video, this is an RPG! If you could improve the combat system to something more like the one in Earths special forces This would be the best mod I have ever seen. I'm sure im going to get raped for this comment but, its my opinion. I hope I havn't offended any of you.

The bow and arrow was a weapon used by the ninja as well as the samurai.
There were two types of bows used, the short bow and the long bow.
The arrows were sometimes dipped in poison to make them deadlier.
Kunoichi (female ninja) were experts with the bow and arrow.

although ninja's did not use bow's as often as others would they still used them.
but the bow was definetly not one of there main weapons

ninjas wer also very efficiant taijutsu(hand to hand combat) users

We are not trying to make a 100% historically accurate game. Otherwise there would be no spells in the game :)

We knew the kind of game we wanted to make, and we made decisions that would fit the gameplay we wanted into a mystical, feudal Asian setting.

That being said, although the bow may not have been a ninja's primary weapon, there is plenty of reference that indicates they did use them, often with poison-tipped arrows, as they are silent and deadly at range.

At the end of the day, if the game is fun, that is our primary concern.
