Gul Dukat has posted a play video of the new release on youtube.

Major Changes.

  • Capturable Neutrals: Neutral command centers for Ferengi, Son'a, and Tamarians, can be captured by assaulting and taking the world they reside at. These stations can then be upgraded to allow non-Borg players to purchase their cruisers.
  • Fourth Level Abilities: Leveling lists for abilities have been reworked with respect to Rebellion, primarily to allow single level cloak abilities for Klingons and Romulans without leaving them short on level upgrades.
  • AI Cloaking Finished: AI cloaking and player cloaking should now behave uniformly with regard to countermeasure usage and termination.
  • Custom Race GUI's: Still WIP, but primarily finished for Klingons, Romulans, and the Borg.

  • Major audio content changes, primarily consisting of substantial dialog additions for ships and events, audio effect work, and reworking of game music.

Minor bug fixes and changes abound. Myfist0 and NewHorizons put a lot of work into this one.

It would be awesome though. Controlling a squad of Klingon warriors on the battlefield.

Not to hard, lots of free tools. Start with Gimp, Sound Forge, Blender. Get in touch with other Trek modelers and start getting permissions. Some allow without asking like P81. Remember, always always always, credit other peoples work.

I would start by asking the community, no point if nobody likes the idea. It's a lot of work.

You're going to have to basically make up, wholesale, ground forces. Redshirts with phasers and redshirts with phaser rifles doesn't get you real far. There are actually a few Trek mods that were in the works for it already, but I don't know how they've progress status wise, most mods die early.

I snooped around the Memory Alpha/Beta sites to look for vehicles. Hero units, ships, air vehicles (shuttlepods runabouts etc) are gonna be easy to create. Ground forces would be easy. MACOS would be commandoes, ground forces were shown in DS9 so that'd be all easy. However the only ground military vehicles would be the Argo which only appears in Nemesis. So that would just have to be something I come up with.
I love the idea but I just don't know how I would create it :/

That is true :/ It would be too much work for me haha I already have work and uni to worry about. I had an idea that each level progression progresses the player through each timeline. So it starts with NX era then to TOS then to TNG finishing at post Shinzon. And at level 3 the Borg appear at the end of the map. Of course the problem would be planets, terrain, where would all the factions sit? How many factions would there be? The list of problems would go on and on.
So yeah.
Probs not :'(
I would love to try and I would love to play it but its practically impossible. For me to make it at least.

Pretty sure I added all credits to the music.
SOA2/Sound then scroll to DOM_MUSIC_[track-name].mp3 and play them, Info is embedded in the tracks ID.

The Borg is meant to play against the rest of the map.

There are actually ships using titan entities in the game, but no there are no plans to add them to the factions.

X Class worlds come with a custom random event system for the specific planet that have the potential to result in a very powerful visitor.

How exactly do I capture neutrals and produce their ships, I've come across two types of outpost: first the outpost is a planet only advantage and increases culture spread/trade etc, the second is an occupied world with space stations, shipyards and defenses etc. I assaulted the occupied world and then colonised it however the stations remained independent. Can someone enlighten me please, am I missing something thats staring me in the face?

Destroy the stations. One of them will go inactive and invulnerable at a certain point, that's the command station.

On colonization, or triggering that state if you've already colonized, the station will change ownership to you. There are research subjects in the diplomacy section relating to the various species that will unlock an upgrade.

A very enjoyable mod, with some great work at differentiating each race's play style. Good sounds and well realised ships (although I'd love to see them just a shade more detailed) and excellent research trees, especially those involving the need for allies. Ideally I'd like to see the titan mechanic realised for this mod, but with the gameplay as it is, it's not essential. Great work at encouraging the player to build a variety of ships, rather than the simple cap ship zerg rush we're all so used…
