This release is for Rebellion version 1.82, but it should work for those of you using 1.80 for the oddball mod incompatibilities as well. This is a full release, changes are numerous, primarily graphics and audio. Clean install people, don't go overwriting your old one.

Gul Dukat has posted a play video of the new release on youtube.

Major Changes.

  • Capturable Neutrals: Neutral command centers for Ferengi, Son'a, and Tamarians, can be captured by assaulting and taking the world they reside at. These stations can then be upgraded to allow non-Borg players to purchase their cruisers.
  • Fourth Level Abilities: Leveling lists for abilities have been reworked with respect to Rebellion, primarily to allow single level cloak abilities for Klingons and Romulans without leaving them short on level upgrades.
  • AI Cloaking Finished: AI cloaking and player cloaking should now behave uniformly with regard to countermeasure usage and termination.
  • Custom Race GUI's: Still WIP, but primarily finished for Klingons, Romulans, and the Borg.

  • Major audio content changes, primarily consisting of substantial dialog additions for ships and events, audio effect work, and reworking of game music.

Minor bug fixes and changes abound. Myfist0 and NewHorizons put a lot of work into this one.

all model updates or additions will be posted to the images section with a description and credits. Just keep an eye out for when I add an image. And its not a priority, so it may be a long while. Lakota and plague ship are next.

Yes and no.

The team originally comprised SOA team members that started the mod up. Major Stress(stresspuppy) and Darkshimmer in particular did a lot of the ground work to get the mod rolling. All original members are retired/semi retired at this point though.

So where are these capturable neutrals at? I've tried getting them to spawn with just about every planet type and still am not seeing them.

They're at the colonized terran planets on the random maps. Attack the starbase until it goes inactive and invulnerable, and it will change ownership with the planet.

Indeed you do. Rebellion is at 1.82.

When you get your game updated, you should also enable the mod before starting a game up. If you enable and play in the same session, there's a glitch in the in game loader that results in a crash at some point soon into the game.

Works fine, are you trying to use it without the available fleetpoints? It works like the phase gates, only fills up using available points. I'll add the usage to the descriptions for the next release.

The GalaxyScenarioDef file is a very easy read. You can look to see what the lists are in there with no trouble. Stars and planets start at the top. There's an information text file included in the galaxy forge folder as well that you should read before doing custom templates, but that more pertains to the crazy stuff I've done.

That didn't help. Basically im trying to get the planets in that have the capturable Sona, Ferengi etc ships but I don't know which they are on the massive list in game.

The primary cause for a mini dump on startup is a missing file. A corrupted download can cause this depending on what program you used to unpack, most wont unpack corrupted archives to start with.

If you downloaded just the patch and tried to run it(we do get these occasionally), you'd get one.

A more rare consideration is file name size. If your entire directory path and file name is longer than 256 characters, the Sins engine can't read it. We had a player a few years back with some really long user name that ran into this issue and I drastically shortened some of the more lengthy file names. You should be in the 160 character range so unless you've changed your file structure or have a truly obscene user name, it shouldn't be an issue.
