Thanks a bunch wbino for trying to help our guest.

Just one thing to be aware of, SOA2 is compatible with 1.80 and 1.82 bEta and both DLC's.

I love SOA. Whenever I need a Star Trek fix, it's always there. No need to wait for J.J.

Started reading your comment and was 'yay', then got to "... wait for J.J." and was ugg.

I am waiting for someone with a just a little imagination that can do a trek movie/series without totally wrecking the original classics.

Thumbs up for trying to brighten my day ;-)

I remember back in 2009 I saw the new Star Trek movie. I enjoyed it and I still do (as shlock action but nonetheless fun - to be honest its not as bad as some of the episodes/movies JJ's predecessors made). Afterwards I went down to the local hi fi store for a browse. There are 20 something woman was querying a store worker about which Star Trek to start with because she had just seen the new movie and wanted to start watching the original shows.
Now I have no idea if she went on to watch and fall in love with Star Trek but JJ did do something amazing. He reinvigorated Star Trek and brought new fans into the fold.

Now if the Enterprise could look less frumpy and turn off the lens flares. Oh and write a solid, ORIGINAL, story I'd be even happier.

The 1st movie was enjoyable, the cast was great, the second movie ****** all over my favorite, TWOK. My point is that in Sci-fi, almost anything is possible, and to not have the imagination to think of something new, or do like TWOK did, building off a TOS episode, you totally fail.

Cacked myself laughing at your reply -just read it. I guess my irony wasn't too clear (the shortfalls of the written word, not your understanding of it). I'll admit, I liked what J.J. did with the first movie. But he kinda went a bit silly with Khan and he lost me (still bought the bluray, just because).

Everyone is different on the Trek scale though. I'm more of a Next Gen fan and the dark end of the scale for me was Voyager. And for no good reason -I just cannot stand her voice! Yeh, that's petty.

But the point I was trying to convey was; your mod has the playing immersion of a Trek movie. And if I find myself in a Trekkin mood, it's this mod I head for instead of a film repeat. I also like the Tron/ Beowulf/ etc. music you stuck in there (inventive and it fits the mood).

And I figured a little appreciation your way for a free game I consider to be one of the best on my PC (don't choke up, now).

Anyway. So I'm really wondering what to expect from you next (if you've printed that somewhere already, can you please give me a link?)

As always, thanks and cheers!

Haha, thanks ¦-Þ

You wont find any Voyager fans on this team, they did have a couple inventive trekky episodes, but overall just ****** on the series as a whole. Most of this team grew up with TNG while watching reruns of TOS.

As of now, our change log is in the private steam group discussion as it may change a bit. Keep an eye on the images here on modDB as I drop a lot of hints of what's coming in the text, and show progress of the art. Other than the odd art pic, this team is not much on discussing in depth, every time we change something. We are not interested in running a social networking site, although we do chat a lot in the SOA2 Steam group chat. Join the group and jump in sometime if you really need to know.

Ha! I grew up watching syndicated re-runs of TOS in the 70's, and watched TMP on release day in the theaters. Yes i admit it i am OLD. However these fools trashing over genes vision (replacing original sci fi with "super hero action, and cgi explosions") need a boot up their butts. Us old school trekkies know how it should be done ;)

Source on the shrike? I can find no such information. The same model is used for both scout and science ship, there are no canon references to weapons at all that I can find.

Not all Romulan ships are "weak". Many are dated refits to replace Dominion War losses (which the romulans got their ***'s handed to them, because of their "bigger is better" doctrine). Do not underestimate the older ships. Combine plasma torpedo armed ships with the heavy hitters like the D'Deridex, and you will have a line of Borg killers. The cloak can be used in case the battle doesn't go your way.
