Cheers & welcome back!

Work has started on reviving the Ruiner. I am currently piecing together the new website for it and mountains of content needed. The website will function more than just a simple site like in the past with basic info. It will feature a wealth of content on the back story, mythology and social network aspects. The design and social aspect are finished. It is now digging up and editing in content that was never shown before. Additionally I am creating many new pieces of art for it. Once enough has been created for a launch, focus will then start on the webcomic and setting a release date. Even after launch, the site will continue to grow weekly with new features, articles and strips. The comic is being drawn with digital viewing in mind.

Once everything is full gear and running smooth, we'll start to talk about the upcoming game some more. The basics have been laid out for it and it is my hope this will see its first release in by the end of next year.

Since the Icon of Sin was the final boss in this mod what else are you gonna have in the next release of Ruiner? I mean that was a pretty awesome boss, what else do you have in mind?

You can pick up a dropped sword... its just a bit tricky compared to the other weapons. The ! icon will appear on the screen when you can pick it up. Next time around I'll look into making the collision box bigger for the dropped sword.

try tinkering around with the console settings for the hdr. it is r_hdr_* If entering lighted areas is too blinded, then this might have to shift sensitivity... when your in dark areas; the lighted areas look much brighter untill you stand inside of them and then they adjust.

Are you running The mod through either a shortcut or the bat file provided in the download? Is your doom3 base directory clean? In otherwords, there are no autoexe files or any additional mods installed in it?

the widescreen issue, i cant seem to get it. i mean i tried the code you gave me but it didnt affect Ruiner, not even doom. i was thinking, why no use the same system as Hexen Edge of chaos, there you can custom design it. its much easier. any solutions to the problem btw ?

I personally can not check into this problem because I don't have a widescreen moniter. If someone has one and is able to get it work with no problems, please let us know.

To set a custom resolution you have to add r_mode to -1.

You can append the following parameters directly in the .bat file (open it with notepad):
+set r_mode -1 +set r_customHeight 768 +set r_customWidth 1366

Or you can set them in the game console:
r_mode -1; r_customHeight 768; r_customWidth 1366; vid_restart

Impressive. There aren't much 3rd person shooters running with id tech 4.
