Our primary goal is to make a playable Classic Cooperative mod for the SP version of RTCW. Check out our media section to see the ingame shots. RTCW was an almost perfect game in 2001, the Cooperative mod was the only missing thing. Now we are trying to make this possible! As you can see on the ingame-shots, it's not impossible! :))))

The first step is to finish the works to play the whole campaign + some new maps in cooperative mod. You and your friends are simple soldiers who goes through BJ’s adventure.

After more than a year (time flies), there is finally a new release.
MAN-AT-ARMS has put most of his time in this new release and as usual ssf.sage managed to fix lots map bugs.
Which resulted in a stable 1.0.0 version of this awesome game.

What do we have ?
The gameplay is exactly the same as in previous release, but its stable and rock solid. So you probably think, so whats new ?
For those of you who know the Quake 3 Arena Engine mod, ioquake3, I have good news for you, all the ioquake3 features are ported to rtcwcoop.
For those of you who don’t know what’s ioquake3 is, these are the important features in a nutshell:

  • New sound code to have better sound quality
  • 64bit support
  • built-in voice-over-ip (voip), if you have a headset and the server enables the feature, you can now talk to your coop friends
  • avi video capture of demos, no more rendering thousands of tga files
  • much improved autocompletion of console commands
  • console history (it remembers the commands from your previous sessions)
  • http/ftp downloads, aka faster map downloads
  • and lots of bug and security fixes
  • A completely new (and optional) renderer, which gives you a lot more eyecandy (to enable it, type in the console: /cl_renderer rend2; vid_restart, to disable it: replace rend2 with opengl1 )

One other important change is that we’ve moved all the coop related files from ‘main’ to a folder called ‘coopmain’, this allows you to mix the stock rtcw mp and sp games with coop, you don’t have to copy all the pk3′s to a new place for coop to work.

How to install:
Unzip the downloaded file into your rtcw installation. Make sure that the ‘coopmain’ folder from the zip file is at the same level as the ‘main’ folder from your rtcw installation.
In case you only have the rtcw pk3′s but no existing installation, unzip the downloaded file, and move your rtcw pk3′s inside the ‘main’ folder.
New Cvars and ConsoleCommands ?

Last night I played BMS to shorten the waiting a bit but got tired of it a little (Soundtrack is very good though, I have to say :D) and ended up on your mod's site with a modest impatience. However, gone are the days when I would be eagerly trying to find the way how to compile bare files and make it work at almost any cost (ambiciously saying, haha!).

Sadly I'm getting slightly nervous as I'm going to be fairly busy next week and on with so less time to play :( Anybody feeling the same way at least about something of what I've said?

Still, when it's done it's done.

We promised that we release it in sept. We work many hours to fix every bug and relase a good mod. Don't neeed to compile the code, or you'l get a bugged version. Please don't want to meet with the actual release, otherwise maybe you will not like it. The final version will be great, plase wait to end of sept.

Until you can play with BMS! Or I can suggest my all-time-favourite game from your great nation: Hidden & Dangerous 2. There is no better ww2-FPS-coop game.

You say it can't be popular while BMS releases but that's not true in my opinion. This is co-op and BMS is not. We want it now if it's ready.

Coop for an old classic game like RTCW???!!! Oh it gets a 10, it's got a few bugs but I'm sure they will fix these later on. A very well done mod , they should update the installer to find my Steam folder for people that bought it there they might be confused where that is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
