Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will you add faction X ?
A: We're not making any promises concerning upcoming factions, we follow our planning and eventually new factions are done.

Q: Will you add X item ?
A: If it fits our time frame then we will most likely add it as long as it is relevant, if it doesn't then we won't.
Items we won't do:
- Square Scutums
- Segmentata
- Corinthian Helmet
Stop requesting these please.

Q: Faction X is so OP/UP (overpowered/underpowered)!!!
A: That's not a question. Also we tested everything against everything in multiplayer a dozen times already and as far as I'm concerned it's relatively balanced. It seems to work decently in SP too so if all you have is one random empiric occurrence where you got your ass handed to you that won't be convincing of a faulty balance.

Q: Is the mod dead?
A: No.

Other things worth mentioning:
We do our own research so please be so kind to not point towards Rome II as a historical reference, we appreciate actual history books and physical evidence over movies/videogames. We do have a planning for what we are doing (most of the time) so there is no point in suggesting to us what our next move shall be. Thank you for reading the F.A.Q. and twice the thanks for reading the F.A.Q. before posting a question already answered in it.

After taking a break for the summer we're starting weekly shieldbattle events once more! You can find all relevant information here: Forums.taleworlds.com

In short: No signing up is required, the event will always be hosted on the latest mod version, using officer, cavalry, skirmisher or elite classes is frowned upon and don't act stupid. Everyone is welcome to join!

I was just reading over the mod description and I saw that you wouldn't add square scutums, segmentatas, and corithian helmets. Out of curiosity, what's wrong with those items?

Anachronistic items, or out of time if you prefer. They are as far away from our timeframe as what the Napoleonic Wars are to automatic gunsand we like to stick to history as much as we can. There are other mods with different timeframes that allow themselves to be a bit less fixated on this, so you've got enough choice if you search a bit.

Thanks for the response, I have no issue with the ban on those items, I was just curious on why. Also, about the other mods, I haven't found one about rome nearly as good as this one so I'm good.

Party sizes are handled by scripts:
script_party_get_ideal_size for the NPC parties
script_game_get_party_companion_limit for the player

You can add more troops to towns/castles by raising the number of troops in the party_templates or directly modifying the scripts that handle their distribution, irc towns receive a bunch of troops from the kingdom_X_reinforcements_a and a moderate amount from kingdom_X_reinforcements_b.
Using the module system for these changes is highly recommended although you could use Morgh's editor for the templates and Tweak M&B for the parties if I recall correctly both have their drawbacks as Morgh's require a little bit of knowledge and Tweak M&B is not compatible with most mods, especially the less popular ones or the ones that modify the scripts too much. Have fun learning/breaking/modifying things, that how you get in unhealthy hobbies such as modding ;)

I ought to add that morale needs to be edited depending on your changes, the script that handles is is called:
get_player_party_morale_values
