Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will you add faction X ?
A: We're not making any promises concerning upcoming factions, we follow our planning and eventually new factions are done.

Q: Will you add X item ?
A: If it fits our time frame then we will most likely add it as long as it is relevant, if it doesn't then we won't.
Items we won't do:
- Square Scutums
- Segmentata
- Corinthian Helmet
Stop requesting these please.

Q: Faction X is so OP/UP (overpowered/underpowered)!!!
A: That's not a question. Also we tested everything against everything in multiplayer a dozen times already and as far as I'm concerned it's relatively balanced. It seems to work decently in SP too so if all you have is one random empiric occurrence where you got your ass handed to you that won't be convincing of a faulty balance.

Q: Is the mod dead?
A: No.

Other things worth mentioning:
We do our own research so please be so kind to not point towards Rome II as a historical reference, we appreciate actual history books and physical evidence over movies/videogames. We do have a planning for what we are doing (most of the time) so there is no point in suggesting to us what our next move shall be. Thank you for reading the F.A.Q. and twice the thanks for reading the F.A.Q. before posting a question already answered in it.

This low resolution texture pack for RaW 2.4 is intended for users with 32 bit OS or weaker PCs. Credits go to SnD because I never had plans to do it...

This mod has nice mechanic but unfortunately it is in most boring period of Rome. When Armor wasnt so cool like classic Romans we know.

If you want to make a comparison, the period when segmentata was more used (I-II Century AD) it was narrowly the most used armour in the Roman Empire. The lastes research shows that segmentata were 50% of total, while hamata (chain mail) was 30% and other types (like leather or squamata) made up the remaining 10%

Yeah it's pretty sad that this isn't set in the time that movies and video games portray so accurately and Romans look cool and stuff bringing civilization to unwashed barbarians that should've known better than disturb the eagle. A time in which they used about four armor types although there is just one that really matters because it looks cool which is the segmentata (plate armor).
Gee I'd really trade for the Empire blob that spends its time trying to keep its borders in shape in petty skirmishes with its bland and uniformized army rather than a struggling early Republic trying to forge an identity among other major civilizations.
Damn name is misleading, Rome at War not being just about Rome being cool...

I know that but everyone likes that period.Period like in Ryse : Sons Of Rome. And during Ceasars. And during those periods they were always at war.

They were pretty much always at war regardless of period. Ryse ought to be one of the worst offenders to history, dwelling deep in stereotypes with a terrible plot and props that reflect nothing of the reality of that period. All they ever tried was to look good and feel cinematic to attract to a broader audience and there is nothing historical about it, I mean, freaking Boudicca riding an elephant into Rome...
So no, not everyone likes that period due to how badly represented it is and there ought to be mods to represent other periods accurately to show the evolution of nations throughout time without having themselves bothering to embellish everything to be sure they attract a big audience. Mods like Roma Surrectum, Europa Barbarorum, Somnivm Apostatae Ivliani and more for Rome Total War did more for me with their immense content to read and thoroughly researched material than any shallow big company game that cares only about looks.
There's a bunch of Rome mods for Warband and I'm sure you'd feel more like playing Bellum Imperii than this mod as it has all you are searching for, cool Romans and gameplay over history.

I would say all the basic mechanics are great, the quality of objects and scenes are excellent, but the campaign map definitely feels unfinished and has a long way to go.

Depends on what you define as 'playable' although I'd say it's a lot more playable than 2.4's SP. There may be a proper response from a dev.

I think the barracks is bugged. Doesn't seem to be anything available to click on despite having 14 soldiers available for upgrade. Do I need WSE?

Nope, just be sure you have warband patched up to the latest version and note that only a few troops can be upgraded. Click Esc key or the gold icon to exit the menu.

I patched Warband to the latest version. When I click on the barracks it shows a panel with nothing clickable. I have to use Esc to get out of it. It says "15 Upgrade Available".

Yeah, so I did a complete reinstall of Warband 1.167. I redownloaded this mod as well. Still the same issue. I think the issue lies with the Warband version. I can't remember where to download older versions to test that idea.

For me it shows the back panel, how many you can upgrade, and nothing else. Everything else shown on your photo isn't there. I have Warband 1.167 I believe. Perhaps it is a faulty download or something.
