Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will you add faction X ?
A: We're not making any promises concerning upcoming factions, we follow our planning and eventually new factions are done.

Q: Will you add X item ?
A: If it fits our time frame then we will most likely add it as long as it is relevant, if it doesn't then we won't.
Items we won't do:
- Square Scutums
- Segmentata
- Corinthian Helmet
Stop requesting these please.

Q: Faction X is so OP/UP (overpowered/underpowered)!!!
A: That's not a question. Also we tested everything against everything in multiplayer a dozen times already and as far as I'm concerned it's mostly up to the team. It seems to work decently in SP too so if all you have is one random empiric occurrence where you got your ass handed to you that won't be convincing of a faulty balance.

Other things worth mentioning:
We do our own research so please be so kind to not point towards Rome II as a historical reference, we appreciate actual history books and physical evidence over movies/videogames. We do have a planning for what we are doing (most of the time) so there is no point in suggesting to us what our next move shall be. Thank you for reading the F.A.Q. and twice the thanks for reading the F.A.Q. before posting a question already answered in it.

Yes, it wasn't meant to be used it was just a test for a new recruitment system and most of it has been removed except the dialogue during the release, please ignore it as it is fixed for next releases.

You go to multiplayer, click on "Host a Game", and then set the number of bots on each team to however many you'd like. You can have fun playing around with the various game types and settings as well :)

Will the troop trees like when I enlist under a lord be applied to armies I recruit as a lord eventually? Like, I can go from a roman cives to a hastati and eventually a triarii or eques, but promoting units in my army only makes them veterans. Is that a temporary thing or is it in the name of historical accuracy?

Seek.n.Destroy Nov 20 2013, 5:15pm replied:

Only the player will build from the ground up when enlisting in an army.
Recruitment system has been changed (not the one on current release) to appear a bit more logical, you can't turn a peasant into a noble and I want to keep the player with a reasonably balanced army, a full stack of cavalry will be a pain to maintain and recruit and troops will follow simple and linear upgrades, a warrior from lower classes of society will not turn into a troop reserved for nobility and will be in higher number than those. Current system (from 2.33 and earlier versions) is unbalanced and has only 6 troop types per faction and you don't choose what to recruit and pay the same to recruit nobles and peasants, this has been changed, more balanced and will include much more diversity of troops and it'll be clearer about what you are going to recruit.
When release is near I'll try to explain it better, the system is included but I don't like much spoilers.

That's not how it works. We have yet so much to do and we're not going to waste time on something so trivial and anachronistic, same goes about the Lorica Laminata/Segmentata that was asked for countless times.
There are mods that have it and if you wish it so hard you can add it yourself to the mod but as we stated we won't do it nor help you doing so. Here is the forge: you will find guides and people willing to help you if you stay polite and bother using the forum's search.
I'm not angry nor trying to offend, I'm stating again that we don't accept these kind of requests.
