Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will you add faction X ?
A: We're not making any promises concerning upcoming factions, we follow our planning and eventually new factions are done.

Q: Will you add X item ?
A: If it fits our time frame then we will most likely add it as long as it is relevant, if it doesn't then we won't.
Items we won't do:
- Square Scutums
- Segmentata
- Corinthian Helmet
Stop requesting these please.

Q: Faction X is so OP/UP (overpowered/underpowered)!!!
A: That's not a question. Also we tested everything against everything in multiplayer a dozen times already and as far as I'm concerned it's relatively balanced. It seems to work decently in SP too so if all you have is one random empiric occurrence where you got your ass handed to you that won't be convincing of a faulty balance.

Q: Is the mod dead?
A: No.

Other things worth mentioning:
We do our own research so please be so kind to not point towards Rome II as a historical reference, we appreciate actual history books and physical evidence over movies/videogames. We do have a planning for what we are doing (most of the time) so there is no point in suggesting to us what our next move shall be. Thank you for reading the F.A.Q. and twice the thanks for reading the F.A.Q. before posting a question already answered in it.

Sparta is Lakedaemon, I don't see the problem.
Now to the troops, tell me what is not accurate about them? Back it up with actual evidence the closest you can to the third century B.C. (~300 B.C.) and we'll do it properly. I highly doubt we made the faction with much inaccuracy, we still miss some equipment but the current one is adequate.

If by any chance you are thinking of sending some fictional equipment, I'll kindly tell you to go educate yourself. Eagerly awaiting your suggestions and evidence.

i happen to know a lot of things about the greeks and sparta the most there is no spartan armor and lakedaemon shouldn't be their sparta should when i play your mod it is not that accurate with sparta but with athens and the other greek city states really you need to put sparta in with armor, troops, weapons if you need help and more evidence then google it

I googled it, I've read a few dozen of books, discussed it with some people that are more knowledgeable than me in the subject and made a point in making it as close to historical reality as possible with the materials we have now. Modeling and texturing are not my thing but I've tried my hand at the second to complement a bit or resources.

I'll show you some examples bellow:

Perioikoi and light Spartan hoplite after the third sacred war as you can see in the mod, based on illustrations from the book "SPARTAN WARRIOR 735–331 BC by Duncan B Campbell.
I have another book by Duncan Head "Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars 359 to 146 B.C." that gives a great synthesis of the situation of the different factions in the mod's timeframe and some basic loadouts of the factions.
"Greek Hoplite 480 - 323 B.C." Nicholas Sekunda and Adam Hook which also mentions the Spartans.
This one you can read since it's online
I have these and a few others sitting around plus complementary documentation sent by other people. I like to read from the most sources possible to make sure they don't contradict each other and go for the most plausible and what is best backed up.

Now that I have answered, be kind and say specifically what is wrong and would need to be changed, a few extra karma if you back it up with evidence.

No you can't, there is still a lot of scripts to do and this is the kind I'll reserve for the end, I don't know if I will ever include this one though.
