One of the best mods for RTW. RS2 combines historical approach, fierce battles and stunning graphics. Besides no RTW player can miss the chance of leading 28 different Augustan named legions into battle.
A must have, you wont be disappointed. Now with the 2.6 patch at TWC.

They aren't all Augustan if by that you mean formed by Augustus.

Correct. Not all of them. Let's say imperial Legions then.

Well thats debatable there are a lot of people who are haveing issues at the moment actually getting 2.6 to work...i myself have managed to get it going originally on Steam version but for some reason it did not like that and had to uninstall RTW Gold and use a retail version...got it going but CTDs are killing it...to me 2.6 offers a lot but i think 2.5 was more stable..but this is all in the air once Rome2 releaases in a few days all this won't matter unless u want to be nastalgic...

It has not crashed one time not ONCE in 6 hours so far n my PC. Also, you are the very first person I have seen online implying this new version is unstable.

Well i betatested it and the only CTD's i suffered were related to my own hardware. To my own experience it's very stable and i have played late game campaigns. But i am using a retail version, not steam.

The most historically authentic mod I have ever seen for Rome: Total War, I'm confident this mod will transfer over to Rome 2: Total War when it releases the modding tools, yes?

Yeah it is but the most realistic is RTR pretty awesome...RS2 is the better graphics of the three but for sheer realism RTR...

Well I never liked the balancing of RS2 .
A normal roman cohort is far to strong and the elite units of other factions are too weak in comparison.

I never tried RTR though.

From the Roman point of view or other factions? For the Roman player other Elite units are quite challenging at least until you have some experienced ones yourself.

From both .

The roman cohorts are too strong and have some of the best stats in the game.

They were normal trained ,good equipped soldiers, but not as good as Noble celtic warriors or Heavy armored and trained elite troops.

I just think tht the roman stats are too high.

The strenght of the romans was that they had a good
medicore army and lot's of troops...

Carthaginian Sacred Band :

A elite unit trained since their childhood equipped with some of the best armor available ...

Heavy armored elite units only slighly more attack and LESS armor than a normal roman cohort.

The roman legionaries were good soldiers but not that good ... and definitely not better than a elite unit.

Perhaps you should try them ingame instead of just comparing stats. Stats do not tell the whole story. They feel quite balanced ingame. And we could discuss the "elite" status compared to "just" professional career soldiers like the roman legionares from the marian reforms onwards.
But Modb might not be the place for that. Why don't you drop a line on TWC ? Cheers

I did ... they failed .
And whichthread on the TWC?

And a normal proffesional soldiers is obviusly not as goos as a elite soldier .They have better equipment and training.

You are comparing two different concepts of armies. Besides we know what happened to those Elite soldiers when facing the Legions of Rome...don't we?

This game is great and very detailed. The legions look great and the campaign mode for all factions is much larger and more difficult. This mod adds depth to the game and it never gets boring now. I absolutely love it. I would recommend this to eveyone who has Rome total war. Best mod for this game ive played.
