Your ticket to stardom has arrived. Do you have what it takes to take your band from the garage all the way to the top? Introducing Rockstar, a Half-Life 2 Total Conversion which puts you in control of creating a garage band, mixing their music, and making them famous.

Do it your way!
Rockstar lets you decide what music your band will play. Will they be the next Metallica, Iron Maiden or Slipknot, or will they be the next biggest thing to rock the country circuit. An in-game music editing package will allow you to drag and drop pre recorded music from varying genres into a timeline for any instrument you wish. Once you've completed your masterpiece, save it into your "portfolio" and practice it with your band.

Look like a Star!
Customise everything about your band. From clothes to hair(even hair color), to the instruments they play. You have to look the part in order to be a star and begin setting trends of your own.

Act like a Star
Your band will act to the music you choose to play. If you compose a heavy metal hit your band will jump around stage screaming their lungs out as they play out your song. If you compose a classical song however, your band members will remain more stationary and may sit down.

Be the Star
Once you have some songs down in your portfolio. Try to find an agent then begin your journey to stardom. Score local gigs to begin with and slowly build your fanbase. Once you become popular you will begin to score larger gigs and even make it to sell out concerts an have your band perform in front of thousands of fans in the largest of concert halls and stadiums.

You choose your destiny.

Hey everyone out in mod land

Introducing Rockstar, the mod that lets you realise your dreams of being a superstar right in the comfort of your our home. We have only recently come into existance, but we are cruising along nicely. The last month has and a bit has seen us get a conept artist then lose a concept artist, then gain three concept artists who I am pleased to say are doing a great job so far.

We are but a coder away from beginning development on the mod, so fingers crossed that happens soon.

Onto the media!
From left to right, top to bottom we have the two model variations of the "Gibson Les Paul" with the "Cherryburst" texture and the "SIlverburst" texture by SideEffect, The two logo variations by Gimpneek, The "Flame guitar" concept by Bigspin and "Guitar" by Evalenge.

We are hoping to begin work soon once we get hold of a coder, but in the meantime we are throwing out ideas over on the forums, so join in, we would love to hear what you have to say.

word of advice, don't put up what you consider "Concept Art" if it isnt in fact "Concept Art".

What you have are filtered photo's to appear as if they were drawn. Not only are you falsifying the public (Because its extremely obvious that none of these were drawn by hand), but your also making you and your team look like amatures trying to appear as if you were an experienced modding team. You might as well have placed the real images up, or photo's you took from google.com or w/e the hell and upload those instead. Would make you guys look alot better, no hard feelings but its true.

Change those and delete my post if you wish, i don't care. Just telling you the truth here.
Also i know those are still WIP, but your skins are subpar. Try posting finished work instead, keep WIP shots within the team...

Audio is going to be a the key necessity in a project like this, so be sure to get a good sound artist group.

I've alerady got someone working on some guitar licks. And also if that band that psoted in the mod discussion forums replies, then I might get them to do a cameo or something.

Not everything is final. The engine is a placeholder. Some of the features a still placeholders. Once i get a dev team up and running, we can work out what we can do and what we can't do.

Rome wasn't built in a day but it sure did burn fast, i think this mod shares the same fate. The idea is neat, but it sounds heavily overestimated, all the costumizables would tear any developer a new one.

i dont understand why you are making this a source mod.
Will you really find enough free man-hours to model and animate all the requried media? I think not.
Why not go for a 2d stand alone game, then maybe it will get finished... unlike this.
