Good job with the particles but I have to disagree with CTA FX.They did a good job with some smoke sprites and flashes but otherwise there is only one ffx explosion.I was able to make much better explosions and fit them into the alpha and light tga files.But at least they updated them.

After alot of texture converting I am happy to report that I was finally able to bring Rising Empire to the latest engine update for AS2 (which also means that moving to Call to Arms would be a small step from here).

I noticed that the FX used in Call to Arms are exactly what I wanted for Rising Empire (lots of sparks and fancy explosions, stuff you only see in movies... or games), so I mixed my own work with theirs - you can see the result in this video. Things might change again, you know me ;-)

Thanks to the engine update, the textures for burned ground (laserholes) and walker stomps etc will now slowly fade away and not disappear so harsh.

Also new (but not in the video) are laser echo sounds for several types and sound adjustments for ALL sounds. Consoles will be beeping as you zoom at them, and not from 50 meters away, AT-ATs will can be heard stomping from far, far away! So you will hear them coming and shaking the ground long time before you even see them, like in the Battle of Hoth.
