Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

This is a step-by-step installation guide for anyone using XP, Vista and for the most part, Win 7. Hopefully this'll help out those of you who are having trouble installing or running the game.

I think who can't click in accept, accept and accept and finish just, can't play this game. This is the """"the most easiest (more than easiest)"""" thing to do!
Ja I know, this is the basically the Dummy's guide to installation, but it does address some key points that apparently a lot of people miss.
A grand majority of people out there won't need it, but some people can't be bothered to read the installation instructions, so here's a vid for those people.
I agree this is unnecessary but some people are too dumb to install corectly.
There are also those out there whom have never modded their games before, this vid is also for those guys.

Can i have Shockwave and this installed at the same time?
Uh i think so, if you install zero hour on a different drive as if you install rise of the reds and shockwave at the same time, it wont work

I install the mod following the directions, and redirect the installation to the C&C The First Decade/Zero hour (Its slightly different, but you get the idea), yet when I start Zero Hour as I normally do, there is no ROTR content.
When I try to start it using the ROTR Beta 1.5 in my programs folder, the DOS prompt flahes up for about a milisecond, and nothing happens.
he didn't said about update your ZH and you don't need to uninstall it
I installed it correctly, but when i run ROTR it gives me an error. "Technical Diffuculties.." I click OK and it shut's down.. what's up with that ._. (my pc good enough, so it's not about the hardware) Any help?
I installed every single file and it comes in a milisecond and blank nothing happens.

I've got the same problem. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with The First Decade installed. The command prompt flashes for less than a second.

can someone help me i got windows vista and when i run this game it opens up and then closes on me... i tried running as administrator same **** closes tried switching to different compatibilities still got same problem someone plz tell me how to fix this
Same problem here, command prompt pops up and closes in less than 1 second and nothing happens.
First i thought it was because i have TFD but the install should work with TFD so i'm lost here cause i followed the video second time i installed it. Seems like theres something wrong with the launcher.
Just found this, don't know if it helps yet but it has helped some.

There needs to be a guide to installing with the first decade. Where to put the files this is helpful but everytime I install and send it to zero Hour in the first decade I get nothing.

im having problems trying to start the game. whenever i start ROTR public Beta, i get a CMD box that opens then close. It said "cannot find target file". I have the First Decade Zero Hour but i'm not sure to which file directory i should put the ROTR files into. first i tried putting them straight into "Command & Conquer(tm) First Decade\Command& Conquer Zero Hour" but that didnt work still, so i uninstalled first decade and reinstalled it to refresh everything. HELP? if it changes anything, i have windows vista >_<

I wonder if anyone could help try and get the word out to the SWR team for ROTR to like have a look at some of my comments that i have made in the GLA 1.7 BETA mod ROTR just want to ask if they could have a look and think about some of the changes that they could make if they want to because some of the shockwave content is pritty awsome as well thanks again SWR TEAM FOR AWSOME MODS :)
