Rise of the Reds: Two Decades after Zero Hour.
After almost a year of inactivity we are finally back in action and have a with a new home at E-Studios. If you're just now joining us, we have changed our image from what we used to be back at Revora. We've begun a massive overhaul of the Russian faction and we are now happy to introduce the European Continental Army or ECA for short, into the ROTR conflict. The ECA originates from the mod "Rise of Europe" whom have now merged with the ROTR team. A vast majority of their content will be available for their Generals.
Rise of the Reds will add these two factions into the "General's" world, and stay true to the style of the original game in both design and gameplay. In addition we will improve the gameplay of the original game and fix balance or bug issues.
Features: New Content and General Selection
Rise of the Reds is a mod for Zero Hour which takes place several years after the Zero Hour storyline. A storyline in which entangles all 5 factions in a battle royale for both global influence and superpower status.
We're planning to scrap a the old Zero Hour Generals with ALL NEW ones with it's own unique General selection.
First you select your side: Russia, USA, ECA, China or GLA. Then once you are in game you will be prompted as to which general you wish to play, who you will then select at the Command Center.
There will be 3 Generals per faction, making for a total of 15 playable Generals - each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. We have decided to base ROTR solely around these Generals so there will be no "vanilla" or parent factions in the traditional sense. The new generals are listed as follows.
New Generals :
USA
-Airforce
-Special Forces
-Tank
China
-Red Army
-Special Weapons
-Secret Police
GLA
-Bio Command
-Terror Cell
-Warlord
Russia
-Rapid Deployment
-Advanced Weapons
-Tactical Ballistics
ECA
-Mechanized Assault
-Royal Guard
-Fire Support
We will release more detailed information regarding these new Generals later.
Unique Skirmish Maps :
For extra content, we will be releasing skirmish maps rather than full blown campaign, these maps will follow the storyline's war and will lead you across the globe. More on that later ;)
The next version of RoTR, is just on the horizon and will see it's release soon. That version will include improved AI, new units and strutures for the 12 factions, 3 generals for each faction. The next version will not have ECA, as we are not done making that faction at the moment.
Overall we hope you will be excited with our new ROTR as we are. Stay tuned for more updates in the future. Please also jump into our forums for your comments and up-to-date news with the mod and join an active community where you will eventually be able to play online. We've had a fan base in the past and with our revival we expect old fans to revisit us and maybe new ones to join in with the fun, so don't be surprised if they expect a few games with other fans!
- The RoTR team
Please Don't ask for the release date, or even an estimate, as there is never a release date.
There isn't a navy planned yet either

This is Eric Bryce speaking with Corporal Parkes through a livefeed somewhere at the Polish Border.

Corporal Parkes what's the situation over there?
Corporal Parkes LIVE via satellite: "The fighting has been going on for days now. We're in charge of holding the line against the Russian onslaught here at the Polish Defense Blockade. As soon we deal with a wave, another comes. I don't think we can hold out much longer. Our food reserves are running low, and I don't even want to talk about our -"

-interference-
Corporal Parkes: "These lunatics! It doesn't matter how many we kill. They just send more. We've been trying to save our ammunition because we heard the depot got blown to bits when the Eastern Defense Blockade got compromised."
Eric Bryce: How many men are fighting with you? What is the status of the Blockade?
Corporal Parkes: "We're down to about half of our man power. They don't care about the loss of life. It seems they want to wipe us out no matter the cost."
-Interference again followed by the sounds of heavy shelled artillery-
Eric Bryce: Corporal Parkes? Hello? Corporal Parkes!
-Silence-
Eric Bryce: It seems we have lost our feed. We will attempt to regain the link while we'll do our best to keep you updated on the conflict. This is Eric Bryce for ECAN. Good night.

oday we bring you what may be, the biggest ROTR update yet! I'm proud to present our work for the Russian faction, their infantry, the Russian Hero(and some of his abilities) and some screenshots from the field! I'm sure you are all exited so lets get it started shall we?
First up on the list is the Russian Command center,
Russian Command Bunker:
Next is our Russian Barracks:
The Infantry Quarters for all Russian Bases. These facilities are used to train newly recruited soldiers, hold sleeping quarters, and an underground infirmary for medical emergencies.
Now its time to show you our Russian infantry. In Rise of the Reds the Russians utilize the strongest of vehicles in the game. Due to the large economic boosts of the 2020's from the African and untapped resources of the Russian Tundras - the Russians were now able to re-cooperate their once lost military might, balanced their economy and tripled their population. As the 2030's came around however, the African Military Theater crippled their economy once more and the Russians took revenge on their so called European Allies. With their still strong military force and massive armies the Russians led an invasion of Europe. The Russian Federation first took volunteers to the war effort but as the need of more men were needed for the invasion of Europe they eventually led a massive conscription, giving simple civilians a rifle, a uniform and a months worth of training, making them very cheap for Russian Generals.
Russian Conscript:
The standard Russian soldier. Recruited by the Russian armed forces these soldiers are armed with a standard assault rifle and can be trained for a reasonable price. If you consider just giving a man a rifle training that is.
Russian RPG Conscript:
This conscript has been trained in the use of the RPG-27, they move slower than most infantry but in turn they can tear through enemy armor much faster than other anti tank infantry. They however lack the ability to aim at air targets and can only concentrate on ground units.
Russian Igla Trooper:
The Russian response to the lack of a early anti air weapons platform. Even though the Igla missile launcher was primarily designed to be used on airborne targets it can be used on ground targets but are not as effective. General are urged to use these troopers as a counter to air units as RPG Conscripts are not equipped or trained properly to do so.
Russian Hero - Boris Bikov:
A renowned hero within the Russian armed forces, Boris uses his powerful RPG-29 to burst through enemy armor with ease. When infantry comes into his sight he can easily switch to his Makarov Pistol to pick out the threat. Boris is also equipped with a laser designator to call in air strikes to soften hardened positions.
Russian MiG Bomber (Boris Ability):
When Boris calls in a air strike using his laser designator, these Russian MiGs are called in for the job. They cruise at fast speeds in search of Boris' laser and hurl incendiary bombs at their target, devastating the stability of the structure and leaving it in flames.
Thats all we have for today, we hope you've enjoyed this update. Also if you'd like to see in-game screenshoots, hope on to our forums to check them out!
See ya next time!

Can't wait for this mod but I can wait unlike others....
Yay a mod with new gens that will work.
Nergi Zed,
On the Rotr, the computer will work with the new generals and teams or not? And you think that Rotr will be released on October or not?
Yes RoTR will have AI for the new generals. (By the Way: RoTR will have 5 Factions, and 15 new Generals. That means that there's no space for the old factions, so technically every sub-faction in RoTR is 'new')
Again, SWR productions has a strict policy with release dates, so I can't even comment on the possibility of the release in a certain time-frame.
Hmmmm... will these have AI?
Hey NergiZed Can you make sure there are no bugs in this mod.
Well, the Beta Team will certainly try to do that. You can expect it to be on par if not better than the current SW.
It will certainly have less bugs than the last version, as that one wasn't completely made by us.
Hey guys!
Another 'Meet the Generals' Mini-update: Forum.cncreneclips.com
It's on Crosus if u wanna download it. (Strange considering you guys haven't released...)
That is the inferior 1.0, it was not developed by us.
