Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Is there any difference between this one and the other one on SW version?

This one has a pair of miniguns instead of heavy machine guns; the RotR one is more powerful.

It's just (slightly whimsical) back-story. It doesn't mean anything in terms of gameplay.

I think that they are referring to movies done by the US containing these Little Birds (of prey)

Directed at Flotsam150:

Yes, they do work, infact, they are quite overpowered right now, when used in numbers. (Try make a hit and run with these birds)

Note that Little Birds now need an upgrade to use their rockets. Which is just as well, because they almost guaranteed a swift US victory before.

A pair of these are great for rescueing downed pilots. Same holds true for SW, except you need 4, not 2.

The choppers in real life don't rearm in the air... (Do they?)
It would mean more realism if they don't rearm in the air...
But that would suck.
And make the game harder -.-

Thanks,
Flot

You answered your own question there. Of course the real ones don't, but the mod ones have a very good reason for doing so, just as helicopters have in-game since vanilla Generals.

These things are agile! They can get hit a few times by a gatling cannon and get away quickly enough (unlike a comanche). I tried micromanaging them, using them for early hit and run and crippling strikes, and then pairing them with col. Burton (col. Burton to eliminate those darn AAA). The cpu responds so poorly to these, it's not even funny.

Might be cool in the 2.0 release to have side benches so a squad can be inserted from it.

Description

The American AH6 Little Bird
A favorite and respected helicopter, the Little Bird remains in service even in this day and age. It has proven invaluable in recon and special operations. Its only defense is its speed but in the hands of skilled pilots and when used correctly they are the perfect aerial harassment force. They are increasingly being borrowed for entertainment purposes such as movies. Even Russian Conscripts are amazed with what these little devils can do in Hollywood.
