Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
In the year 2040, a recon patrol of the North Sudanese Army discovered a hidden Russian outpost in the vast badlands around Kurmuk, near the disputed border of South Sudan. This incident immediately sparked the attention of the Chinese, who had a strong military and economic presence in North Sudan. A spy plane of the PLA Air Force was ordered to take high-resolution photos of the compound. Most alarmingly, one of the structures was identified as a ballistic missile silo. When the Chinese government broke the news of this disturbing discovery to the media, President Suvorov maintained that the area in question would actually belong to the Russian protectorate of South Sudan and that the facility was merely there to support the rightful territorial claim of the local government. The so-called Sudanese Missile Crisis quickly escalated out of control, prompting the US government to support China in an attempt to appease the hawkish opposition which called for a harder line against the resurgent Russian Federation. This led to the creation of the Pacific Peace Alliance, a joint Sino-American effort to subvert Russia's growing influence in Africa. At first, Beijing and Washington made demands for an entire catalogue of economic sanctions against Russia and its allies which was predictably vetoed by the Federation itself. When it turned out that a political solution to the crisis would not be possible any time soon, the two uneasy partners decided to pursue a more drastic approach: As part of the infamous Operation Double Tap, a combined force of Chinese and American forces would sweep in and secure the facility by force.
However, the assault ended in a complete disaster when it turned out that the alleged missile silo actually housed an enormous, four-barrelled artillery cannon which blunted one Chinese assault wave after the other, leaving the smaller American strike teams to be surrounded and overwhelmed by the dug-in Russian defenders. After the shameful defeat at Ku
Awww the description is cut off at the bottom. :( Hah but i LOVE this superweapon! Here comes the BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM!
Russians... they make nukes look like child's play.
Yes and they think of the Environment for the future generations! not like those pesky ECA and their nukes!
Well, there's the Topol.....so not really.
That is true :P hehe darn, But the Topol is Zhukov's toy! At least Aleksandr and Orlov thinks about the environment!
Um... Coal Power Plants...
God dammit i give up, Screw the environment!
if it wasn't for the wild fires in Russia from the coal power plants then We ECA commanders wouldn't need to use Nukes
And they make particle cannons/lasers look like an backyard experiment.
And make the scud storm look like children with dart guns
PLEEZ We make everything look like childs play except for actually being a child.... and playing hmm :/
By reading the description it reminds me of the Shell map for the mod. Influence maybe?
That actually does portray the Battle of Kurmuk, yes.
It would be nice to have a mission similar to that
Oh **** how I laughed at the first mention of the missile silo. Mind went along the lines of: "Those poor *****!"
Nice improvement of the overall quality.

I thought it was Msta shells destroying the Chinese assault force?
The Msta shells more or less land on the same spots.
It's the Tremor than makes the pink mist in that one.
It makes mince meat of them... Ouch !
Use the FinalBIG040 and you can fire very large nuke shells out of this gun totting beast... Just that your friends will call that OP or overkill...
What I really want to know is how high the trajectory on this thing can be.
Its infinite, you just have to change the FireOCL and FireFX parameter to make the special effect of large nuclear mushrooms and increase the level of radiations after the massive barrage.
BAM BAM BAM BABAMB BAM!.....all your base went to stone age...(Reference to Flintstones)...xP
LEVELING CITIES IN THE NAME OF MOTHER RUSSIA!!!
This is hands-down favorite superweapon, even without any trace of nukes in it. Just imagine how that war would've turned out if the AGAS was loaded with nuclear shells like the Nuke Cannon - Overpowered and will prevent anything from growing in that location for decades.
I imagined that IRL and ALMOST shuddered, but in time remembered where I live :D
I tremble at the power of the Tremor, not out of fear, but out of the destruction I now knowingly wield.
Say your prayers ECA.
Sorry, I had to.
A four barreled, nuclear armed super weapon. The epic gun artillery barrels aiming up reminds me of the Allied Proton Collider in Red Alert 3. This would be great!!! :D
This gun is so much more powerful than that proton collider... I felt so underwhelmed after being used to this and then playing RA3, the proton collider just went "pew pew" and then "poof poof". Compare that to the "BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM" "POW BOOM POW BOOM POW BOOM"
Weak sound of Proton Collider is explained by small projectile weight: collider fires small "shell" that is just gram or two of hydrogen (at a relativistic speeds though). And also by fact that PC uses magnetic acceleration, while Tremor is a "explosive-powered mass driver", i.e. just a huge cannon which gives a loud "bang". And Tremor's shells are HUGE.
And of course, main factor and main scientific rule appliable here: Rule of Cool.
I remember how I was playing ROTR against AI and just for lulz built kinda ~12 of them (call me n00b if you want, I just wanted some Stuff Blowing Up), and I was listening to one cool song...
Now every time I listen to that song, when refrain comes up, I almost can hear that BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM with a rhythm...
I don't think I need further evidence that Tremor A.G.A.S. is awesome.
Kill all 4 AIs in 2 strikes
The best overkill you can have in ROTR...

I miss the liberty to make several superweapons in the newer C&Cs, they always helped me to turn the tide of the battle when the AI is winning
It was 8-player map. Don't remember the name, but it was naval one that came with ROTR.
I set all players in four teams though: One - me as RF and one AI as ECA, one USA team, one China and one GLA. So there was 6 hostile AIs.
It was Hostile Horizon.
I love the fact it still has the Shark-head details :P
The description seems to end too early. "After the shameful defeat at Ku"?
Description limit, obviously.
Replace with Russians R-36 NATO:SS-18 Satana better.
1)Nuclear Missile is used by China, second similar superweapon = loss of originality.
2)Tremor AGAS seems more tactical than huge ICBM.
3)Tremor is plain frickin' awesome.
When mininguns arent enough and you use artillery ..........Why not both :D
