Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
The BMD-3 is a vital part of the Federation’s special operations. They are responsible for transporting Russia’s elite infantry. They are also armed heavily enough to be considered threats on their own. They are usually seen wreaking havoc behind enemy lines, long before the enemy is able to react.
The VDV (acronym for Russia’s Airborne Troops) are very fond of the BMD-3 despite of their disposability, it is common procedure to destroy the vehicle after the operation is complete.

Guys I think BMD-3 had a 30mm gun, and BMD-4 had a 100mm gun insted. Correct me if I am wrong please. Very nice still.
i think the 100mm is the main gun and the 30mm it the MG barral (next to or correted to) main gun
The variant with the 100mm/30mm combo turret is also known as the BMD-3M, so it's not really inaccurate.

The BMD-3 is capable of upgrading its gun turret to a mortar turret. COOL.
Providing excellent cover artillery fire for VDV troops.
And its armor is weak. So do the hit-and-run.
