Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Do you have to manually switch weapons or is it done automatically.

It will be awesome of it's automatic so you can't change it manually.

Can i ask??
Why the GLA so much suck in your RISE OF THE REDS universe ????
Their can be even considered as a threat. In your ROTR you truly dont give so much attention for GLA players.
You know if in ROTR it is a future decades from our timeline so why the GLA are like from our timeline like they dont change from 50 years.
yust funny through. PEACE

Unlike Russia, China, the US or the ECA who are all fully industrialised and developed countries (or, as with the ECA, an alliance of such countries), the GLA is literally just an army of terrorists, not an actual coalition of real nations like, say for example, the MEC from Battlefield. As such, their resources are limited to outdated weapons and their own custom creations.

Another difference is that the other factions are fully unified while GLA spends as much time fighting itself than it does everyone else.
Unless Sula fully put an end to that, which I find slightly unlikely.

Considering that each of the three GLA Generals represents a different ideological wing (Sulaymaan = proto-nationalists, Yusuuf = religious hardliners, Ibrahiim = anti-capitalists), the only thing they all truly have in common is that they won't give up their Central African territories without a fight. Beyond that, the place is almost completely lawless; total freedom but at the same time, boundless brutality. One of our upcoming 1.82 updates will actually give you a detailed tour.

Yeah you a right about the GLA that their have no industry( obviously )
but that what i mean their a not as good to equally fight other Generals
its like if i as GLA want to win i must sacrifice so much units to win battle that i can not use a tactic at all
like US army AI will in small number be able to normaly wipe out my entery crew of base in almost no loses yust scratched.
And im not a bad General but their a so much tweaked and why didnt leave GLA like in the ShockWave universe with DeathStrike in lead and more units for GLA to be a true enemy and not a bunch of guys with Toyotas vs Abrams.
yust wanted to say DONT THROW KARMA ON ME PLS

Not to sound like a douchebag but sounds like you have to work on your micromanagement! and always be aggressive as GLA since it's even more rewarding then in vanilla/shockwave, and again no hard feelings!

On a pure gameplay basis, most GLA units are meant to be inferior to their US/ECA/Russian/Chinese counterparts. At the same time, they are quite cheap and tend to have better mobility and stealth features.

Basically, the GLA is designed to use its units differently depending on their rank: The standard factory stuff is cheap and can be treated as expendable whereas experience and salvage essentially give their 'senior' units two layers of veterancy with three levels each. These units are meant to be used with care in order to land decisive strikes while the factory units keep the enemy busy in order to rank up themselves.

Also, consider that there is a design difference between the ShW GLA and the ROTR GLA. Shochwave sticks to the game's original three faction scheme whereas ROTR has five. As such, ShW's GLA was given access to a number of hard-hitting weapons whereas ROTR's GLA has better stealth, economy and mobility due to GPS tech, bounties and tunnels. They aren't meant to be comparable.

i agree with all of that, though i just think that they could have had one or tow options that deviated from that patern somehow for varieties sake, (they just feel as if they lack a little bit of variety compared to the others) or some way to boost the development of the "senior units" sometimes.
that would make them not so hard to play with (they are the hardest faction as of now).

I'm just going to be straight-up:

1.) The GLA is NOT another tank-rushing faction like the USA or Russia, nor is it a spamming faction like China. If you want to spam or tank-rush, then don't play as the GLA. Simple as that.

2.) The GLA is meant to be played like a true 'guerrilla warfare' faction; Stealth, speed, flanking and ambush, staying out of sight and striking from the shadows, etc.

Basically, the GLA is the 'hide and seek' faction. Use it as such. Yes, it requires a lot of micromanagement, and if you don't have the skills or patience for that type of playstyle, then you're just not meant to play as the GLA.

:)

Yeah i agree on all of that what you guys say. GlA are a "hit and run faction" or "strike and hide". But what i meant is there units.
So why GLA atleast can have more Infantry units for more purposes like Mortar team, Heavy AntiTank like Hizballah and those idiots( Metis,Kornet ), more kind of Rebel variations like LMG, Marksman kit (SNeaky faction without a snipers or marksmans WHAT THE HELL, and mostly that Saboters will have knife attack on infantry like or Makarov with silencer ( not like some terrorist can afford ).
And the most funny thing on GLA the "Best sniper in the game"
is inferior to USA Pathfinders they totaly PWNhim when he met them. His Range of shooting WTF is slightly better then Ranger with Serch and Destroy tactic.
AND i dont whining and dont wanna sound like douchebag but its only ma opinion about GLA is that their a the moss forgotten faction that need some update.
Canpered to EU with so much kind of infantry. I think GLA need more infantry atleast.

I agree that Jarmen Kell could have slightly longer range, and that the GLA could use a sniper/sharpshooter unit of some sort (Maybe give the Sabotuer a knife-attack or suppressed pistol).

Yust take how much large the EU hero got his range with Sniper :D
Jaeger vs Kell Kell will not even do a one footstep and will be dead and that he lost his abbility to shoot tank crew is realy missing guys you tweaked GLA in every direction

Hmmm... those guys are much cooler now, and it doesn't matter if that SMG is almost useless (because of balance).

Better that they stand a chance with SMG's than trying to kill infantry with MANPADS. Say, how did they even lock on to the enemy infantry to start with in the previous versions, anyway?
