Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

do you need GP to unlock this unit? And also as the description said "area-denial purposes", does that mean it would be booby trap for Anarchist instead of normal rebel

They can place mines with the explosives unlock but the basic unit is available by default.

So, these will be kinda like Shockwave's salvage general's terrorists or older CnC game grenadiers, right? throwing explosives, with extra bomb setup capabilities?

They are actualy stick grenades, altho given the low polygon count its not hard to confuse them for bottles :)

Well, bottles would probably be white on top, but people would have to be aware of Anti-Tank grenades, as those were mostly known as before falling into obscurity. And half of those having conical features doesn't help with recognition.

Anyway, explosively formed penetrator mines, please!?

A stick grenade's a stick grenade.
Personally, I'd sooner go with the RPG-40 hand grenade: Shorter stick, much heftier head.

It actually can also be the RKG-5, which looks like an iron Molotov.

I like the backstory giving the distinction between the Anarchists and the religious martyr Terrorists and it's dropping hints that Bio Command and Terror Cell do not get along given the philosophies of their respective generals.

Yeah, Yusuuf is the leader of the strongly religious wing of the GLA, drawing heavily from radical Islam and jihadism. Ibrahiim is very much the opposite, an extreme anarchist who doesn't really care much about ideology at all as long as stuff gets done. Due to this, there is a noticable split between the two factions on how things should be done.

Also, while both factions can use Anarchists for their weapon skills (as does Sulaymaan), only Yusuuf has Terrorists and Demo Trucks for the classic tactic of suicide bombings.

Not to mention that Sulaymaan is somewhat more nationalistic than the two, wanting to create a "GLA Nation" and he doesn't really care for one's religious or political ideologies. All he cares is that his citizens are supreme warriors willing to fight for the sheer hell of it.

Basically, Yusuf is a Osama Bin Laden, Ibrahim is Occupy Wall Street on 'roids, and Sulaymaan is your average day Ork Warboss.

They don't get any Recycler upgrades because they are already incredibly strong by default.

Description

The combination of anti-globalist/capitalist political ideology and radical salafism has proven to be extremely effective in attracting disaffected recruits for the GLA from nations around the world. From the former come many of the organisation's demolition specialists, such as the 'Wall Street Bombers' whose series of attacks on banking houses and business individuals around the Manhattan Financial District in 2042 revealed that the reach of the Global Liberation Army once again extended to American shores. In combat, GLA-affiliated Anarchists tend to be armed with a variety of hand grenades and home-made explosive devices which they can set up for area-denial purposes. Unlike their religiously motivated Terrorist cousins, Anarchists are utterly devoted to their goal in ensuring that the world shall suffer "no gods, no masters" - A stark ideological contrast which, according to recent intelligence analyses, has led to disputes among the GLA's top level leadership.
