Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
The American Blackhawk has operated in many scenarios all over the globe and has proven time and time again it is an excellent transport helicopter. Not only can it sweep the landing zone clean it can also lay down a barrage of covering fire for its passengers. The Blackhawk tactical transport helicopter is the army's unrequited quintessence of infantry insertion deep into enemy territory. During the war on the GLA, the multifunctional Chinook helicopters had been used to this same end. However this unarmed and expensive helicopter sustained heavy losses to enemy RPGs and Stingers. With the Osprey being impractical due to the fact that it, too, is unarmed, the Blackhawk was uncovered and reassigned to the army of General Thorn to guarantee enemy inquietude. It mounts an anti infantry minigun and arrives with eight rangers ready for aerial insertion.
ain't that a lil bigger for a minigun? I looked at it and thought "oh look a 120mm cannon"
yeah tths def way too small to be a 120mm cannon, but sure, maybe a 20mm cannon, but not 120mm.
When compared to a ZH size infantry the weapon is a suitable size, remember ZH infantry are a "bit" bigger then some of the vehicles.
the only thing i see wrong is it is just a little to long
but im not certain ive actually seen a minigun and thats about the right size

Nope, we tried two miniguns but that was a bitch to code, so we stuck with one.

Other generals will probably have only the Osprey for their aerial transport.

Later on in the mod, will we see any upgrades available for the minigun? Maybe a TOW missile upgrade for 400, like the Humvee?

I like this a lot. I play around with it sometimes doing my own little mock insertions when I'm bored. I just wish that the enemy fortified buildings more often.
i seem to have the same problem, i like to have urban fights with insertions and everything, but the enemy never seem to garrison buildings.
the only thing i see wrong is it dont have a nose or somthin like that (oh well its pretty futuristic so they kight have removed it)

I just found this out, but it can instantly gather supplies at supply docks (without the net animation so its sped up). Intentional or a bug?
I have heard of this bug, in some mods they have patched it. I think it was in ZH anyway, but don't take my word for it.

Urrm just a note to the makers of this mod ospreys can be fitted with a rear or door machine gun. Just a note I still think the black hawk is good.
yeah, but if anything for ZH and what I've seen from the coding for this blackhawk in game... it turns it side to face the enemy to fire, meaning that a V-22 would end up facing its *** to the War.
if i may suggest, means its a little more toward realism, and it'd be kinda cool, can we have a small infantry machine gun and a light grenade launcher, ya kno, just strong enough to make scraps of techincals/light vehicals, and can be used during the gathering of supplys, so that resources are completey screwed out of the question when gathering across maps o.o
