Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Despite a fine service record since then, superseding the F-16 Falcon, AV-8 Harrier, and F/A-18 Hornet, the name stuck. Armed with AIM-120 AMRAAMs and AGM-305 joint air to ground missiles, the Widowmaker can capably engage and destroy any possible target.
Starting as of Version 1.87 the Raptor will be replaced by the Widowmaker as default fighter aircraft altho rest assured the Raptor will be making a return as a general exclusive in the future.

Widowmaker will have the same stats as the Raptor you currently know. Raptor will come back in 2.0 as a general-unique unit.

As it was stated, Widowmaker will replace Raptor in 1.87, but will have the same stats.
Raptor in 2.0 will be general-specific plane with better perfomance or upgrades, while other two will have the Widowmaker.

Wait so doesn't this mean that you have to revamp a ton of lore as im pretty sure during the Cyclops update you made explicit mention to an F22C "Sea Raptor" and that the USS Sprit of Independence carried 500 of them

Looking back, I think that a lot of the changes in creative decision made by the mod team (reversing previous decisions) shows a maturing of opinions & views, as well as willing to accommodate the changing world.
It's really nice to see the mod team being so humble and flexible.
