Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Wont this overlap the battle drone?

Well, the battle drone is still going to have purpose in the Anti-infantry role, plus the fact it's always going to follow the parent vehicle.

This however, needs the drone factory and an upgrade from the strategy center to be able to repair vehicles. Battle drones will still see use.

And initially, repair drones can only repair drones, which does not have Battle drone upgrades.

Is this an additional upgrade to vehicles or this needs to be produced in the drone factory like the sentry drone?

Its originally from the early versions of Generals C&C, a scraped model.
Many mod teams got them into their mods, they just modified them to look better.

I expected SWR team to reskin this model.

Then again, that would be much less impractical compared to recycling an EA model.

Or maybe SWR DID tweak the model a bit.

Or they are just adding it in for now as part of the drone update and will reskin it later

Description

The Repair Drone has been procured in an effort to reduce the costly logistical footprint of America's mechanised engineering units. Aside from maintaining other drones and ground vehicles in the field, it is also equipped with a set of sensors and tools for explosive ordnance disposal.
