The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
This variant of the formidable TIE Interceptor was used almost exclusively by Palpatine's Royal Guardsmen during the time of the Empire and Remnant. They were modified to be better than the stock versions in almost every way, including being equipped with shields and hyperdrive. In the mod, these units will auto-spawn as an escort for high-ranking Imperial officials (heroes).
awesome :3
Thank you HomosexualTendencies.
Looks great as always, keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Huh, no image uploaded today displays properly on any mod. Interesting...moddb hasn't had these issues for as far back as I recall.
Yeah, I couldn't even upload it last night... There is something amiss but their track record about these things is always good so I will cut them some slack :)
Looks pretty sweet.
Also, makes me wonder, will Mandalorian/New Republic heroes also have backup danc--squadrons?
I was toying with the idea of using those Green squadron A-wings (and other famous fighter squads) in this way. However, I kinda like the idea of making an 'honor guard' something that is exclusive to the Remnant faction.
Great work as usual. I look forward to using these.
Thanks :)
i had one of this in SW galaxies
oh i miss that game :C
btw great addon, i love the imperial royal guard toys
same :(
Ironically, I've never played that game but it has a wealth of SW resources to pull from that make great additions to an RTS style of play :)
also it has the most detailed star destroyer i have ever seen in a videogame
high-poly
every single pipe, fan and detail was made in 3D, not just a plain texture, great game.
Oh wow, yeah that is one high-poly ISD! Actually, come to think of it, that game had some pretty good graphics all around, for it's time.
Still can't see it. BUT I can bet it's amazing as always ;-)
And if you want to know, Moddb has ALWAYS had these issues as far as I can remember. No intention to polemize, just adding info.
I don't even bother trying again with Chrome, that NEVER works with this site.
At least the good old fox most of times does fine, but this isn't one of that times...
Chrome is a horrible browser, fyi. I daresay I like it even less than IE. Firefox is good most of the time but they have their broken updates and so on like the rest of 'em. However, in terms of compatibility and web standards compliance, FF is the leader.
I'm glad you like it in spirit though ;) Too bad Moddb has issues like this. However, when you are managing a database as massive as theirs, you're bound to have issues and I'd say they do a fantastic job, considering.
I agree on everything.
FF is the best, and Moddb is invaluable, it's one of the tabs I have open at each session.
Also, now I can see the image, and the unit is more fantastic than I even expected.
It really screams "royal guard". Compliments!
An excellent fighter for the Crimson Guard, and well textured! Excellent work, the_Farseer!
holy (insert your own phrase)...
thats amazing detail
Ah this reminds me of Starwars Galaxies.....Loved that game. Great Work!
The sexiest TIE I have ever seen.
Beautiful work...
I want to pliot this TIE interceptor...
This is simply stunning.
Makes me wish we had a X-Wing Flight simulator as detailed as this! I'd love to fly one of these...
...after I've repainted it baby-blue and painted a little white bunny on the front. D:
I can live with the idea of it being baby blue, but the bunny, that would just be asking for Concusion Missile up the wazoo ;)
But yea, the_Farseer truly does some splendid models.
Thank you! I've been dying for a new Star Wars flight sim. I was sad when Disney closed down Lucas Arts but at the same time, their reasoning for it was completely valid...Lucas Arts has not released a worthwhile Star Wars title in far too long. I mean, what the heck happened to all of the classic franchises like Rogue Squadron, Jedi Knight, and so on. There was a golden age for Star Wars games and Lucas Arts really did let it die...
Anyway, I digress. I really am starving for the revival of Star Wars games though.
They justneeded to carter more to the PC than those, pardon me, bloddy consoles. The PC is where LA really shined, but they jumped to the console as every other did and forgot all their loayl fan base, so its cool we have dedicated modders like you around to keep all our old games look nice an purdy.... Yea yea, sucking up never did bring anything good :)
Anyhoo, I digress too. I miss my old X-Wing game and TIE Fighter, to me that where the two best SW games I have ever tried, I even remember one time hearing the good old X-Wing game through a "real" sound card back in the days where it wasnt as good as they are now, and was like "WOW awesome" Oh god, I am ranting now.... Better stop while I have chance.
Glad we are on the same page!
On a side note related to your avatar... While they are at it, I think a revival of the MechWarrior series would be very welcome as well. I booted up MechWarrior 3 on my PC the other day and it brought back so many good memories. Video games really are just more...generic? Ah! Formulaic, that's the word. Game producers have a formula for what sells so that's what hits the shelves. Back in the days of the classic games, there was no formula so game developers had to take risks, so games were created with more thought and care. I miss that.
MW did get a short revival but alas only as a pay to win thing, I would love to see MW 2 and its expansion revived too.
In regards to the whold old games subject, back in the day the games had more focus on story than gfx, seeing as gfx really wasnt even something one thought about then. But yes, modern day games are follow vary few guide lines, like WOW the players with dassling GFX's and they will swallow it whole... At least I some times feel like that is what they are trying to do.
Also they many a game company think their customers are dumber than the average chicken, simple fact, we're not.
Look I could go on here, but this is not the time nor the place, I just wanna sit here and drool over the various models seen here so far, and drop a little request, could we purdy please, perhaps see some in game shots of the units, if possible?
Yeah, I can work on getting some in-game shots. I haven't been doing them because they require more time to get just the right shot, edit out any parts of the HUD that are in the way, etc...
These guys are working on an hd redo of xwing/tie inside of Unity (I think). Maybe we could coax them into also adding xwing alliance and rogue squadron missions after they finish xwing and tie fighter.

Oh yes........
