Jesus Christ, everything looks so good that it looks like it was a new game with a new engine, instead of the same game we had 10 years ago. I hope that your halo mod will get the same upgrade in visuals, those asteroids and nebulae look beautiful.

I'm really looking forward for a new ROTM release, and a page update for campaign commander, that would perfectly be a Christmas present to me. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, Campaign Commander needs to come back. A Halo RTS with space, land, and galactic conquest modes would pretty much beat Halo Wars by default, even with a lower level of mechanical polish.

Oh don't worry...I'be learned a lot with RotM that can be directly applied to Campaign Commander. I've even come up with some ideas that, while they don't necessarily seem to fit in with Star Wars, would be amazing in a Halo mod. I've got some good stuff coming (I hope!)

The Dreadnought terrorized the Rebels for years... And I think the most likely reason of all, was that it's hyperdrive motivator was three sizes too small.

The Y-Wings flying by is such a nice touch.

Y-wings are always a nice touch. And thank you! Who doesn't like a rugged, tried and true workhorse of a ship?

I'm loving this new graphical style that's being implemented. It reminds me a lot of a comic book style and its just so fantastic and unique

Borderlans uses a technique called cell-shading, which is different than what I'm doing here. What I've done, simply, is to use dark shadows and strong highlights, to accentuate details and provide a more accurate representation of how lighting might look in space, given that there is no atmosphereic diffusion or light scattering.

However, I do find that the greater contrast in lighting is more dynamic and beautiful to look at. I'm glad you agree :)

I just want to say, WONDERFUL MODEL. Gorgeous texture too. However, Iblis' Dreadnought cruiser was recovered before Thrawn captured Katana Fleet. In fact he'd been using it to fight the Empire, along with two other Dreadnoughts that he'd also taken out of Katana fleet, independent of the New Republic, and only returned when they really needed him. Upon rejoining he retained the Peregrine as his command ship and gifted his other two vessels to the New Republic. The comic for book two of the Thrawn Trilogy is really wonderful btw if you need more visual references.

Great info! I Misread the Wiki, now that I'm going back to double check... Thanks for correcting me. Garm's story is actually one I know less about so I'm glad folks like you can step in when I fall short.

I love how all of your models and textures are reminiscent of the Borderlands art style, which in my opinion makes a better game environment to play in.
I can't wait for the release of this and am going to be hyped for months until it comes out, great job on those models!!

See above reply to Dsalmon for explanation on the Borderlands thing ;)

I get that comment a lot and while I do appreciate the praise, it's not the same art style as Borderlands, really. All the same, thank you for your feedback!

Description

Personal starship of famed Rebel general Garm Bel Iblis, the Peregrine was once a part of the fabled Katana Fleet, recovered by Admiral Thrawn during his campaign. After his defeat, the surviving dreadnoughts were converted to New Republic warships and Iblis chose the Peregrine as his flagship.

Mostly, Iblis left the ship as he found it but he did add an external communications blister, a move that while increasing comms capability slightly, was widely criticized by his peers as it left the equipment exposed during combat. However, being somewhat of a solitary individual, Iblis secretly enjoyed the privacy that the external addition provided and would typically spend his personal time in this area of the ship.

Not much else is given to the Peregrine's visual description so I added some nice green paint to represent Iblis' Corellian heritage and to differentiate the ship further from the stock Remnant dreadnoughts. In-game, Iblis will no longer use the...Gargantuan (what a hunk of junk...) but will be a space-only hero who offers defensive boosts to allies and retains the "power to weapons" ability of stock dreadnoughts. He will also still have his "shield flare" ability, adapted for space combat (will basically work the same) and the Peregrine itself has increased shield power compared to the stock dreadnoughts.
