Gavin Darklighter is a young and skilled pilot who joined Rogue Squadron sometime after the Battle of Endor. Being the cousin of the late Biggs Darklighter has given Gavin a sense of pride in the squadron and means that he knows he has a legacy to live up to. While Gavin would not give his life taking out another Death Star somewhere in the galaxy, he has proven his worth many times over by helping the New Republic to solidify it's victory over the Empire. Notably, he has participated in missions tracking down and eliminating the threats of Ysanne Isard and Warlord Zsinj, then finally assisting in the liberation of Coruscant itself. After such an impressive career, Darklighter was given command of Rogue Squadron when Wedge Antillies in turn took command of the Lusankya.
Gavin would go on to fight during the Vong invasion and some years after, would turn command of Rogue Squadron over to a new face, just as Wedge had done with him. Then, he would work all the way up to the rank of Admiral in command of the super star destroyer Megador.
Love all the new NR toys but Gavin was Biggs younger cousin not nephew.

So in this mod will starfighters get their warhead launchers?
Bomber types will, obviously. The Preybirds have concussion missile launchers as a special ability. Other than that, no. It's simply too much power for so small a unit and since there is no way to limit payload, it would really defeat the purpose of bomber types anyway.
Well, you could make the cooldown long and the damage to be minimum (and not being able to bypass shielding).
Just a suggestion, I'm fine with whatever is done.
I feel like doing things that way is a classic RTS mistake, personally. A proton torpedo is a proton torpedo...It should do the same damage when launched from an xwing as it does from a ywing. Just my opinion.
In that case the long cooldown idea seems ideal.
It's been a while since I edited XMLs, but wouldn't it be possible to give them a modified proton torpedo projectile with a ridiculously long time between shots?
It wouldn't be a hard limit on them but it would ensure only one shot per life.
This is just food for thought, though. anything you decide works for me.
The only issue with that is that the AI wouldn't use the feature very well. ALL the xwings in the squad would fire the payload at the first thing they saw...and then just never do it again. There would be ways to get it to work, I just question whether it's worth the time.
So I guess if I ever wanted to be in command of a Super Star Destroyer I should become leader of Rogue Squadon, cause two of their leaders ended up in command of an SSD.
Yes that does seem to be one of those "nice to have" skill in the job description. Lol

When are you going to stop teasing us and show the Keldabe Battleship with racing stripes and a superlaser?
Since it's all Disney now too, I might as take lessons and anthropomorphize the whole ship, give it eyes and a mouth...call it something cute like "Gunny" and change the story of the mod to be about a lonely Kedalbe ship who meets friends, encounters trouble and in the end, learns more about himself and the world around him and that he doesn't need to be the most powerful battleship to feel good about himself.

I now demand a spin-off fanfic detailing the adventures of a young Mando'ad and his friendly battlecruiser "Gunny".
Finding Mando. The tale of a father Kedalbe who's son goes missing. He sails far across space in search of his boy, worried because one of his hyperdrive motivators is smaller than the other and he can't hyperspace as well as other ships.
He meets a forgetful CR90 named Tantive and the two become fast friends, despite their differences. Tantive also sets the series up for a movie of it's own down the road...
Best starfighter squadron in the galaxy.
