Did this in Photoshop today as a supplemental concept to the drawing I whipped up. I thought people might appreciate a more realistic visualization since the drawing was done so quickly and is kinda sloppy...

It probably isn't so bad actually. If you look at it, the helmet is basically a dirt bike helmet.
...You know, for a 'sloppy drawing' that concept of a scout trooper...it is anything but 'sloppy'.
I think this is definitely going to be a nice touch to the game.

Although the fur looks cool, I think some sort of heavy cloth-like material would make more sense considering that this is an Imperial soldier and not a high ranking officer (who could understandably have some personalized clothing)
Fur isn't necessarily indicative of a noncomm or anybody high ranking. I mentioned that was the idea I had when I came up with this concept but the general idea is that it's just to keep them warm. :)
To be honest I like the drawing more. I think the bulky proportions of it are more fitting. You also might want to put some sort of wind resistance on his pants.
Light/scout soldiers shouldn't be bulky. That's one of the things I actual didn't like about the drawing.
Looks very interesting, though I'd say fur looks a little bit too "tribal" for the mighty imperial forces.
On the other hand, since it's the imperial remnant in the mod it could work, however i think if all scouts had a fur cape on snow planets, it would be a little too much.
I would agree with Omega117a on changing it to some kinda synth-cloth, but the concept itself is pretty awesome.
Maybe save the idea for a veteran Scout Trooper hero? ;)

Quality kinda sucks, but it is only a pretty small picture in the book.
The armor is more a mix between the scout and snowtrooper armor.
Yeah, looks like the Scout armor with the heated, Snow Trooper chest piece.
From a modeling/texturing standpoint, synthetic cloth would be much easier pull off. Maybe I can do that for the Storm Commandos and generic scouts, then give the sniper the fur cloak thing.
Snipers would probably be hanging out without moving for longer, so fur probably would make sense for them.
So the Storm Commandos will get a white snow version as well?

Oh and how about giving the snipers some kind of camo cloth for forest planets? That would only require a quick reskin.
Regular scout troopers with bright white armor in a forest environment is already silly enough, but we can't change that so why not give at least the snipers some kind of camo?
Also I appreciate it very much how you listen to every suggestion and user feedback and even incorporate some good ideas.
It's because Farseer is awesome like that.
I kind of see the white armor in the forest as redcoats in the American Revolution. not practical...but it sends a message and lends itself more to psychological warfare.
Storm Commandos have been known to wear white armor too so yes, they will be white on snow maps :)

It fits with the imperial philosophy of ruling by terror, but if I were an imperial commander on a forest planet I'd order my scouts to camo paint their armor lol
You could do that...but then you'd be in direct disobedience of the Emperor himself, who mandated to all squad/unit/branch specific colors or emblems be stripped away for the standard white. This included camo and any other paint jobs. The Emperor didn't care about the safety or lives of his soldiers; he wanted people to fear him.
However, the era of the mod is post-Emperor and things like this did loosen up a little after his time. Still, old habits die hard and the white/gray/black had become a symbol of sorts.

As always, sir, you are the master of understatement. I have lost count of the times I wish I could make anything half as decent as what youre doing.
But I must agree the photoshop ed. of the snowtrooper (scout variant) looks better than the drawn one. Imho it more resembles the ones seen on Endor.

Hey the_Farseer, I really love your new scout trooper variant, it resembles the classic old design and mix it with something new that fits perfectly in my opinion. I really hope to see this guy soon in the game and I also hope to see more of those Star Wars concepts from you even if they're not in the final mod. Ah, before I forget it: You should check out the Ewok hunter from ImperialLackey (http://www.swagonline.net/node/2086), it's an interesting design and in some ways logic considering the end of Star Wars VI.
