Is this for when entering shield covered areas like bases?

These stormtroopers do not have shields either, HTRK74JR; they are going through the planetary base shield, possibly on Geonosis.

(buried)

yeah i realized that after inspecting the picture and reading the description, and then remembering what scene he was talking about, he really should've made it more clear.

I thought between the title, picture, and caption that it was clear...

Definitely Geonosis.

Also, nice touch, this.

I notice these troopers are no longer in your standard grid pattern anymore. New formations perhaps??

Farseer said previously he would kinda soften up the infantry formations since it looks unrealistic if the troopers always move in perfect formation.

Exactly right. The stormtroopers will still form up into a tighter box pattern when stationary but while on the move, I've tweaked all infantry to be more flexible in their formations. In this way, they can "flow" around obstacles and such, rather than trying to move around them as an entire block...if that makes sense.

But how else will I pretend I am directing a space-based version of the Roman Empire's Legionnaires without the box/cohort formation?

Meh. I guess I'll leave using infantry for my friends. I am a proud armored and airborne general.

If you want space romans go check out Warhammer 40k. They even have their own pseudo-latin.

I can always add a tesdudo ability, where the Stormtroopers box up to defend against Ewok arrows...I guess? In fact, that could have changed the entire course of the GCW! Lol.

Haha, now we're back at troopers having shields.
But I guess testudos don't work that well in densely wooded areas.^^

I'm very excited to see that in action. It will be like delicious icing on an already tasty cake.

I'm not only blown away by this new visual cookie, but those stormtroopers look superb! By any means, this is absolutely stunning and impressive and a great reference for overall authenticity. Great!

Now that is cool! Kind of reminds me of that scene in Star Wars episode 1 when the droids walk through the Gungan shields.

Description

Added a shield effect for infantry and all other non-vehicle units. I always felt that not having this was very strange, especially since it is clearly shown on infantry...or droids I guess...in episode one. The effect doesn't really slow infantry down the way it does for vehicles, it's just a visual change.
