Well dont get me wrong, I love the Mandos but the Imperium would wipe them clean out of existence. No Mando could ever stand up to a Space Marine and even the Imperial Guard would probably be more than a match for them.
Well...The Imperium is far larger. And Mandos while superior soldiers are still normal , while the Space Marines are genetically modified.
But when it comes down to guardsmen...A Stormtrooper or Karskin? Maybe. But unless they have the numbers I doubt standard guardsmen would be able to win in a fair fight without their heavy armor.
So far, it just emits a shockwave particle with a thundering kind of sound. Abilities in EaW can be tempermental but if possible, I'd like it to also slightly increase the tank's speed.
Ive actually got some new Plex missile sounds that are much better than the game's original. They're taken from actual audio recordings of rocket artillery firing.
The upcoming version seeks to smooth out a lot of that stuff. As a result, MPTL will come only in a squad of one, not two. Additionally, the reload time between volleys is increased a bit and total health reduced. Its a lot less annoying now...
The airspeeder still needs some balancing work but its getting there. I think the key might be to reduce the number deployed from 3 to 2, so that it is less spammy.
That's true. I guess it's worth mentioning that I've reconfigured a lot of the damage tables, which resulted in it being a lot tougher with its base stats. I lowered the health after having adjusted the tables... sorry.
The AAC2 is one of my favourite vehicles simply due to its versatility. It can combat infantry, ground vehicles and aerial units and could potentially even be geared for use as artillery. Add to that it's repulsor lift and you can go perform hit-and-run attacks from basically everywhere at any range against any target. Then there's the shielding and not half bad armour plating.
For balance reasons, it has no shielding in game. Additionally, as with its Battlefront counterpart, its lumbering and too slow for hit and run. Believe me though when I say that its offensive capability more than makes up for that.
What are you doing with the lancet? It never felt like a t47 counterpart, maybe it wasn't meant to be... but the particle and firing sound was incredibly annoying and enemies didnt really counter it well.
It would be rad to have a vehicle that lobs those blue proton bombs.
The Imperial Vehicles data sheet was released a while back so you can check that for the new model and ability. The unit itself behaves more like a heavy fighter now, not a weird...lightning artillery, bug riddled, thing... It has one forward facing turret that is effective against all types and two smaller, rear facing turrets that dont do tons of damage but are mostly there to ward off speeders.
Since most units in RotM can attack air (many are not effective against air but they can at least take pot shots and TRY to shoot them down...) the overall threat and annoyance level of these guys has gone way down. In the original game, only designated anti air units could shoot at air... Tanks and infantry just stood there, nevermind that a soldier can just...i dunno, point his gun up. Lol
Phased out by someone anyway because they are ugly as ****. Lol. They also serve no real purpose since the remaining tanks cover all the bases in terms of function.
One thing I just remembered: No transport vehicle?
I quite liked the addition of those in FoC, great for quickly getting your infantry across the map and protecting them.
I don't actually know if that was a thing canonically, but what about giving the T-1B the ability to transport a single infantry squad? Kind of like a light IFV/APC thingy.
I hated the original transport types in FoC, to be honest. I really feel like transports are best used to get infantry to hard to reach places but unlike games such as Starcraft or Age of Empires, the maps aren't really laid out in a way that such a strategy makes sense. They aren't nearly as big as said games' maps either.
If you remember, I actually did have the T-1B originally designated as the T-1APC and it was configured to transport a single squad. My goal was to have it like a moving bunker where the garrisoned units could fire from it...but such a mechanic just isn't possible in EaW unfortunately. With that mechanic not possible, I found the single-squad transport to be essentially useless.
I really liked the original idea of the T-1APC, it was like the Multigunner IFV from C&C 3. Its interesting the bunker mechanics couldn't replicate on a mobile platform. I'm tempted to try an make the bunker model mobile and see if it can use the firing bones while it moves. I'll let you know!
Same. I could get it to fire....sometimes. At one point I noticed that the garrisoned units were firing...but the lasers were coming out from where the T1APC had originally spawned, rather than where the unit was. Almost like the fire bones got "stuck" on the map. Really strange...
Cool
Wow!
Oh man...can't wait for this to be done. So looking forward to it.
Not too many more of the guide pages, if I'm remembering correctly.
Its getting closer, that is for sure. There is still a lot of work ahead but I do feel confident that I can make my end of the year release goal.
I love what you did to the MPTL and the ability on the t4b is amazingly original, keep it up proud of ya
I do wonder what visual will accompany it. A bright red vehicle is not that threatening unless it's about to roll over you.
I demand the tank commander sticking out of the hatch swinging a vibroblade while Death Metal can be heard from inside the tank.
While I do love the 40k style bravado, the T-4B is a single-seat vehicle so then, who'd be left driving it? Haha
Youtu.be
well that is how :D
a mixture of warhammer 40k and mandos would be neat too i guess

Why not give the missles of the AAC-2B the sound of ww 2 era rocket launchers like the katushka i think it would work great.

Not a bash against your mod, but I always hated how the T-47 & MPTL played in game, mainly as I played as the empire.
Poor storm troopers, poor AT-ATs

Health reduced? The MPTL was pretty fragile from the jump if you ask me.
That's true. I guess it's worth mentioning that I've reconfigured a lot of the damage tables, which resulted in it being a lot tougher with its base stats. I lowered the health after having adjusted the tables... sorry.
Eh no need to apologize lol. It was just funny to see health reduced and mptl in the same sentence
-Screeams in original expanded universe joy-
stunning

This thing is lethal.

Sounds cool, i must've missed it.
I would usually manually target air ships with turbolaser towers, dont know why they didnt do so automatically.
Acquired from a drunken sorosub employee? Lol
Looks amazing, can't wait for the other faction overviews
"Hey, why does this thing have a special cargo hold for a crate of Correlian Ale?"
- "Don't question the schematics."
AAC standard with cup holders and wet bar. In fact, its actually just a converted limousine with a rocket launcher on top.
So we have T-1B, T-2B, T-4B, but no T-3B? I presume they've been phased out by the rebels then?
Phased out by someone anyway because they are ugly as ****. Lol. They also serve no real purpose since the remaining tanks cover all the bases in terms of function.
That is true, to both comments.
They did seem so... just wrong on the battlefield, I get the fact most of the arsenal is outdated, but good lord was it just wrong.

update, I could sometimes get the bunkers to fire but its inconsistent, oh well. It's a shame that Petroglyph didn't incorporate this idea.

I gotta wonder, what is a MAHT? a new unit?
Check back in the screenshot history for the Empire's vehicle data sheet. It explains there. ;)
i'm really glad to see mod maker working together to produce such awesome content again.
great stuff
Thanks!
