Not OP, but I think I know what he means, for it's not that difficult to see. "Isn't the greatest" in this case probably means the dimentions on the head don't match up with the regular CR 90. Which is true. The dimentions of several parts of the cr 90 don't match up with references, though I'd hardly call the model "bad" because of it. Compare the ship side to side and top to top with these references for example and you'll see the differences: Img03.deviantart.net or Google.nl I don't think the model itself is "bad", just slightly inaccurate. Call it artistic license if you will.
Love the texture work. You made the DP-20 and Maruader look better than I've ever seen before. I love the design of the CR-75, though I can't help but find the irony in light corvette, yet it having a giant gun. Though with how ships are classed it makes sense. The gun reminds me of like a Flak 88 in space with the description you provided of it.
The only thing I guess FreezPopp could be critiquing on the CR-90 is the forward bridge of the ship. In your model its a lot more thin and wide, almost hammerhead like. While in the movie model and other depictions its shorter at the sides and more bulbous (examples linked below). Though all in all this has to be one of my favorite models of the CR-90 yet.
The Light Corvette is actually taken from SW: Galactic Battlegrounds, though I invented the CR-75 designation for it as well as the backstory so that it can be introduced into space (SW:GB is ground only, if you didn't know).
I'm glad you like the models mentioned and I do see what you mean about the bridge. To be honest, I tried to save time by adding to and retexturing the game's base model and I didn't edit the bridge portion at all. However, it doesn't surprise me that they got the proportions wrong...as they have done with many of the game's original models. The good news is that it should actually be a really easy edit. I'll take a look at some references and make the change. Thanks for the feedback!
Thats one unit that I actually didn't know about. Funny I can spot a random dungeon ship from like an old RPG supplement, yet this one completely slipped my mind. After looking at the pictures of it from Galactic Battlegrounds I think you did a great job of keeping its design and giving it a more realistic and proportionate look. I like the CR-75 designation and the backstory it fits in perfectly.
No problem, I'm very into the weird little details and after the other comment didn't offer an explanation I thought I would chime in to help until they responded. I could tell after looking at the base game's CR-90 bridge portion, but wasn't 100% certain so I didn't want to assume. The original models are really a hit or a miss, some of them are really good with only minor proportions being off and others are just way off.
so is the CR 75 more effective against Captial ships or smaller fighters? would be fun to use a fast corvette sized ship to hit and run effectivly against bigger ships with that giant cannon ontop.
That's how they are designed for now. There are a few issues with the core game's functionality that might necessitate a change back to linear movement but I am not out of ideas yet.
Anything but the continuous beam for me, while i love giant turbolasers its not very distinct. A beam that is slightly longer than a normal particle would be nice.
Actually, I tried to model a projectile that matched what it uses in Galactic Battlegrounds. So, its a green burst of energy. Not really a laser but not like a blob either. You can see it briefly in the second most recent video (the one about Coruscant's space map).
i'm so hype for the new version!! looking so good!
that cr90 makes me cringe a little
You can't leave a comment like that and then not explain why.
oo sorry. its just the model for it isnt the greatest. the texture looks nice though

Yep, Delta was saying that below too. Makes sense. I'll try and adjust the model a bit.
Look great cannot wait to blow them up!

The gun hits hardest against fighters but it's also effective against other corvettes and smaller frigates. Not effective vs capital ships though.
Will the corvettes act like the Millennium Falcon when they fly around in space combat?

What did you decide upon for the cr75?
a heavy tubolaser, a continuous beam or something inbetween?
Either one would be cool!
Side note, what on earth is your Display pic from haha

Personally i love pulse lasers like this:

I love all of these!
Thanks!
