Oooh, pretty. Does this new fire effect have any adverse effect on performance?
Nope. In fact, it's easier on performance than previous fire particles because it generates less particles per second. The fire sprite itself is animated so you get the whole "flickering flame" effect, using less particles overall.

Oh, no. Lol. I just happened to crop the picture off right above the main UI but just below the build queue. It looks the same as it has in previous screenshots. Glad you like the effect though.
Ah, I see. Are there any more effects coming next time, like for example some new force effects?

Nobody gives a **** about force effects, people want to see star destroyers. That, or mon cal cruisers. Would love to see how you handle a mon cal cruiser.

Anyway, yes there will be new force effects and new force abilities in general.

Oh interesting. How'd you do it?
Cheesecake and I have been recreating the fire particles for the past month. Cheese posted some preliminary screenshots on his Legacy mod site, we will have finalized pictures/video on the Vong site soon. He made something similar to what you have with a few textures i created for him, but Cheese took it a step further by adding a heat distortion effect.
A video will be up on our site later this week, we are just focusing on ships however, not land units.
It's great so see the updates on your site and some others, wonderfully new and impressive ideas inspiring other ideas all over the place, good times :)

You know, I can't help but wish you were on the Thrawn's Revenge dev team. Those guys have some real talent and great ideas, but one of my major problems with that mod is how... undetailed, I suppose, it can seem. The ideas are all there and everything, but some of the textures and graphics could use a bit of a revamp.
And swiveling turrets.
On the topic of your mod, another job well done. RotM has been beautiful from the outset.
