The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
Made in tandem with the others, the textures are still sad.
Before anyone shits themselves and says "wtf Mando only get 4/5 fighters?? lamesauce this mod sucks. Farseer should die"... Hear me out. Not only are the Mandalorian fighters EXTREMELY powerful for their class, they are also built in an era before the Mandalorians were really prosperous again. There were few of them around, even fewer resources and places to build ships. It also fits the Mandalorian paradigm that you build something right and you build it to last. They don't have a motley assortment of fighter versions and types because when they build a bomber...they build the best bomber. When they build a fighter...they make it the best (Trump would love these guys...magnificent structures and all). Anyway, there's little need for revision. Not to say there is none but less so than might otherwise be.
Dang... Starviper will also have Lock S-foils. Can't believe I forgot that!
Scrub. Get with the program.
Also, does the formation ability actually change the squadrons formation? If so, how did you set that up in the code? Sounds like nothing I've ever seen before, curious as to how that works.
All abilities for Emps and Rebs are implemented and tested. Abilities for Mandos are being worked on now. The idea for this one is to use the "take cover" infantry ability, which affects squad spacing. It's actually the same ability, really...just applied in space.
I love the Cabur, it looks like a sibling to the Kyr'Galaar. Question; is the Kyr'Galaar your rendition of the Bes'uliik?
Kyr'galaar is actual canon. It was an experimental ship that would be essentially the prototype for the besuliik.
I love the quality standard this mod has, and I believe its release will be the thing that makes me finally reinstall EaW.
I might just be ignorant, but do the Mandalorians not have any "bomber" type fighter? Because it certainly appears that way.
The Kyr'galaar is the main designated bomber unit and at least in the old version the Gladiator/Pursuer had some anti-capital capabilities as well.
Yep. The Mandalorians generally design with a multirole paradigm but if one ship could be called a "bomber" it would be the Kyr-galaar. The Pursuer is a freighter type and such, is armed with a variety of weapons, including a single proton torpedo launcher.
Theres a couple bomber oriented star fighters in the mod forget their name though.
love the Kyr'Galaar model! looks great, yo
Some mighty fine star fighters right there
Thanks everyone!
Do the same for land vehicles! :D
Land is pretty much done, so I may do this :)
That's awesome to hear! Thanks :)
So hyped... but Mandalos haven't bomber(s) ?
Not a dedicated bomber, no. Most of the Mando tech is designed for multirole duty. As such, the Kyr'galaar functions both as a great fighter and bomber.
These look great. I always thought a darker grey would look better on the StarViper.
Are Mandalorian or Rebel ships going to have hangars? I get that their fighters/bombers usually outclass those of the Empire and thus need to balanced by quantity, but it always seemed that could be more reasonably achieved by limiting squadrons per ship and units per squadron... that and I'm just too lazy to build fighters. lol
Also, can the launch fighters ability work separately from a ship's normal hangar operations? For instance, lets say a dungeon ship can launch StarVipers from a hangar hardpoint. Could a launch fighters ability then be used to dispatch a platoon of Mandalorians with jetpacks for boarding and capturing a nearby ship? (totally not also dropping ideas in there)
Some recent screenshots should answer your Reb/Mando hangar questions ;)
As for the dropped hints... I believe that there are folks working on something similar to this, actually. Won't say more because I don't want to steal their thunder. However, if they get it to work, this would be a great idea.
Neat.
These look great and very professional! are you going to do the same for larger ships or ground units? It would be awesome if these factbook pages made it into the mod like through the menu screen or through the tech tree screen in campaign mode. however, being relatively unfamiliar with coding, I don't know if that's even possible let alone how difficult it would be to implement. -- ramble post, over and out.
Lol. It could be possible but would be quite a bit of work...more than its worth, I think.
No more Toscans?
Nope. The Toskan will be for other factions controlled by the AI or buildable in skirmish at the asteroid bases. It was never meant to be a Mandalorian ship but I included it in the last release to fill space... I decided against that this time because I'd rather have quality ships that make sense than more ships just for the sake of having ships.
I mean, it kinda did make sense in the light of the Mandalorians reestablishing themselves as a power, first using black market tech while their domestic industry got back on its feet.
However, if the objective is to present the Mandos as an autarkic military power on scale to compete with either the Republic or the Remnant, then, removing the Toskans is definitely the right move (Supafighters as well).
Speaking of that, is there a source link on the Supafighter? I can't find anything on it, and I like to think of myself as pretty well-versed.
does this mod would have an upgrade ?
