Nothing wrong with the Empire or Republic but this mod is called Rise of the Mandalorians for a reason.
I love the sleek, elegant, dark design. One note is that technically most ships had Point Defense Lasers, I believe the Crusader-class had an advanced system as illustrated in the game.
Glad you brought back other ships that the Mandalorians used or created new ones, the more the Mandalorians standout from the Consortium the better.
Truthfully, most of the Mandalorian units are done I just haven't posted their fact sheets like this yet because I'm still figuring out abilities for them. It was much easier to nail those down for the New Republic and Remnant. I'm glad you like these. The images of the Mando units are here...they're just way back in the screenshots.
I agree about your last remark too. The Consortium was already about half Mandalorian so some units of course will stay, some will stay but with edits, others are totally new. But even the units which are staying will be tweaked in some way to make them feel Mandalorian and look like they belong in the fleet or army.
As for the point defense systems, yes that is true. Just like our own navies, most ships do have some kind of missile defense. However, take the ISD for example... If I were to add every gun that it is actually supposed to have, not only would it be a ton of work but it would also be a visual mess as it would have a billion hardpoints in-game. Further, it gets hard to scale each tech level if you make each unit's weapon and defensive systems 100% canonical. What I mean is that ships like the Carrack, which is a T2 corvette, actually is quite powerful. I try to reflect this in the mod but within reason, so that it still makes sense at its tech level. Limiting the amount of units with point defense allows bombers to keep their viability, doesn't make even the small or low-tech-lvl units OP, and allows units like the Crusader to play a more strategic role, gameplay-wise.
The Krayt is a smaller ship and as such, has fewer guns. Its got two heavy lasers on the "wing" tips, plus a dual, medium laser turret on the chin and a duel, light laser turret on top.
The Crusader has 10 light laser turrets on the sides, with two dual, medium laser turrets. One on the chin, the other on top.

I now kind of wish you'd add a joke hero unit to Skirmish where there's a ISD that has every gun in canon. It would gloriously wipe out the rebel scum
