The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
I have shown a screenshot or two of these fearsome machines on the ground but never in space. The full HUD is intact here to show that this is indeed an in-game shot and not a map editor creation (as many of my pics are, for the sake of ease).
You'll see Larsus Ulle's icon in the upper right as well. He too will fly his Basilisk in space. While his flamethrower (for obvious reasons) doesn't work, the rockets on his basilisk are devastating to fighters and corvettes and the observant player will also notice Ulle still sporting his signature blaster, firing shots of opportunity from the pilot's chair.
damn that looks nice ...always wondered what these things look like, well done!
Check farther back in the screenshots to see better pics of the Basilisk. This is only a glimpse of their space abilities, not a really great "glory shot".
Time to rip apart some rebels and imperials.
And any rogue Mandos that think they can stand against Fett and his Protectors :)
Looks good... But do they melee?
Oh no, I guess they don't. Picture title inaccurate, sorry. ;)
Yes! Fly me closer, I want to hit them with my crushgaunts!
This is what I always wanted. Kandosii!^^
Haha! You know dang well that if any Mando in space had a jet pack and their ship was disabled, they would do just that!
*Jetpacks over to passing X-wing* "sorry friend, this ship is mine now" *punches through transparisteel, does Master Chief-style hijack*
Breaking out the museum piece, eh ?
...This is an absolutely terrifying "museum piece".
Well, the basilisks in the mod are new models based off of the old designs. The only true museum pieces are the Lictor-class ships, that were actually maintained and operated for the generations between KotOR and NJO eras.
Basilisk vs that one A wing in Return of the Jedi, who'd win?
Basilisk, always. However, I'm sure the Mandalorians would have viewed the pilots death a very honorabru.
Like basilisks of myth, when the enemies of Mandalore are faced with the battle droid they become so petrified with fear it hastens their imminent demise.
I hear **** freezes in the cold of space... An awkward scenario for those frightened pilots.
Although, when frozen it is easier to dispose of. Avoids any mess. Rebellion can't really deal with much more filth in their ranks.
What you don't know is how much that Mando is dreading cleaning all the Tie fighter pilot off his Basilisk later.
But Fantastic work as usual.
I don't think Mandos have a word for dread... He'd probably just leave the blood stains as war paint or something anyway.
But do they lift?
Bro, you have no idea. My Basilisk is so swole.
Dude, oh my goooodddd!!!!
Its gunna be sad blowing these beauties up from my Star Destroyer.
Alas, the mighty Basilisk does have it's limits... An ISD would obliterate such a machine.
So you got it to work properly? Their melee attribute. Can't wait to see it ingame. Ever since Kotor 2 I have been dreaming of seeing the basilisk in a space battle.
Well really I didn't do much...I just discovered that fighters can have attack animations, luckily for me :)
Damn looks gooooooooooooooood
This might be idiotic, but couldn't a flamethrower work in space, if the oxygen is supplied from a tank as well (which I think is how normal flamethrowers work 2 oxy 1 fuel)?
The spread would be much greater if it did
Well that depends... The fuel and air mixture plus the combustion would all have to happen in a sealed environment, then the flames would be released. However, that still doesn't solve the problem keeping the flame alive after it initially combusts. With no outside fuel source, it would die. Besides, I think against starship armor it would be rather useless anyway.
Fair points, best to keep it for boarding action
I think Rocket said it best:
He's the tiniest Mandalorian.
