Crysis TC influenced by the Tribes series of games. Made by people who love Tribes, this project aims to bring the best elements of the Tribes games and expand upon them in a full-blown multiplayer mod for Crysis.

What will you see in this mod?

Expect very high freedom of movement – every player has the ability to move frictionless across the terrain (‘skiing’), and every player has a jetpack to propel himself into the skies.

Expect large outdoor environments – multiplayer maps that stretch for several miles, yet can be travelled by a skilled player within a very short amount of time.

Expect team based online gameplay – because gravity is no longer an issue, Capture the Flag and other team-based gamemodes gain a completely new dimension.

Expect Tribal weaponry – the best weapons from the tribes series will make an appearance. Discs will fly.

Expect three different armour types – light armour for extreme speed, heavy armour for extreme protection, and medium armour for the best of both worlds. Every armour will have different weapon carrying capabilities and movement characteristics.

Expect a large scale of base equipment – inventory stations to re-equip yourself, turrets to defend yourself, and deployable equipment to serve you in the field.

Hi all.
Well it has been a while since the last update, so apologies for that.
We have changed the format of the Project Rise site slightly now and moved over to a Blog system rather than News. This is open to a few key members of Waking Hour to post into so expect to see some of the inner workings being mentioned there.

This news update is to mainly respond to a few queries that have cropped up recently.
Namely vehicles in Rise, comparisons to the Tribes games and Beta testing.

Firstly, I'll go into the Tribes comparison aspect:
A lot of members of this team come from various backgrounds, and most are experienced with the Tribes games, so this opened a lot of windows. We sat down and analyzed what was cool about the different Tribes games and what wasn't, what worked and what didn't. Based on that we came up with a game plan for Rise, built all of those features, and right now we're going through a play test - adjust - play test cycle. If something proves to work well we're keeping it, if it doesn't work it goes back in the grinder to see why.

Due to real life, this doesn't always progress as fast as we'd ideally like, but so far its proven invaluable to us. I really enjoy playing Rise right now, and I can't wait until you guys can, too.

Obvious direct comparisons will of course be drawn to Tribes 1, 2, 3, and the perception of Rise will lean more towards one of the Tribes games than another. However this is not the designed intention for Rise. We aim to pay homage to Tribes whilst bringing something fresh to the table, and hope that our efforts will be rewarded by you guys having a lot of fun playing Rise.
We are not remaking any of the Tribes games.

Vehicles in Rise:
With regard to incorporating vehicles: this is an area which seems to divide people into loving or hating them.
We are not discounting the idea of vehicles totally at the moment, and have some ideas which could work really rather well, however we don't intend to revisit this aspect, and reach a decision until a much later development stage.

Beta Testing:
Thank you for your e-mails about participating in the Beta.
We aren't currently taking requests for this though, and have no mechanism in place to record the current ones.
Once we announce the Beta, you can re-submit your request and we'll take it from there.

Hey! Nice work guys. Long time Triber here. Lovin what's happening with Rise! I'll be checking back regularly. I like the more organic stylings of the armours, and the reality of terrain is what I think will put this over the top.

Holy hell, this is honestly a dream come true. Right now I am playing Tribes 2 after years of thinking it had died off, and I was just thinking of how Crysis would be perfect for a Tribes mod when someone brought it up. I absolutely love Tribes, and love you guys! (Not in a... you know... kind of way, but a "professional" way)

Vehicles are an important part of Tribes, now I agree that the offensive vehicles should be better balanced, but personally, I liked the MPB and transport... without the transport, heavies are just fat bullseyes when you're on a long ski...

but to hell with the Shrike, I hate that f-ing thing! If it had been shieldless then maybe it would have been okay.

Great looking mod. If anything dont listen to the rift between people who like T1 only or T2 only. Both were great Tribes games and I think a mix of the two would be great. Just avoid anything Tribes vengeance like the Plague =).

And you Tribes 1 people who complain about Tribes 2 being too slow. That was base. T2 classic was so good it actually was more fun then T1 and I loved T1.

Not really. It was a bit better, but nothing close to T1. You would know if you ever played T1 - its speed was insane. T3 came close to it as some point in the beta, but the release version was slow again. :(
And the stupid vehicles were still present.

Oh yeah, I also hope there will be an as funny voice menu as T1 had. T2's wasnt as funny anymore.
"YOU IDIOT!"
"NO"
"YES"
"NO"
:)

I really hope this mod will be more like Tribes 1. Tribes 2 and 3 were simply too slow and too easy.
But judging from the movie (light armor skiing speed), its still slower than T1, which would mean I could play T2 or T3 instead. :(
Oh well...
Also I hope they still change the explosions. They simply dont fit to such scifi weapons.

Agreed. The speed should at least match that of T1. And please leave vehicles out. Vehicles in Tribes are redundant, as the skiing and jetpacks provides players with equivalent mobility and the mortar launcher, heavy armor and shield pack provide them with equivalent firepower and defense. Putting vehicles into Tribes just kills the pacing and flow of the game. There are already plenty of shooters out there that have vehicles. Please just focus on perfecting the movement and combat of Tribes instead.

With that said, the mod is looking great and has tons of potential!
